A short half hour mooting was
held, after convening In the

which Principal Richard Cnrpen-
ter outlined the program for the
evening.
From 7:30 until 9:00 p.m. par
ents attended ha If -hour sessions
in the departmental areas of
English, sciences, mathematics,
social sclenco and vocational
training. The classes were do
signed to acquaint parents with
their chlldrens' Instructors and
classroom materials. Teachers
prepared and demonstrated pro.
Jects and discussed textbooks.
At the conclusion of the even
ing, those attending gathered In
the lounge, where refreshments

Wrights Are Greeted
On 50th Anniversary

wedding anniversary.
Friends and relatives came
from a wide area to the lovely
country home of their son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Wright, to extend greet
ings and congratulations to the
honored couple. About 150
guests signed the guest book
during the afternoon hours.
The beautifully decorated an
niversary cake was served by
Mrs. Clifford Hermann of Waits
burg, Wash.; Mrs. Bob Bergs
trom, Heppner, poured punch;
coffee was served by Mrs. Clyde
Hamar and Mrs. Berl Hamar,
both of Corvallis; passing the
guest book was Mrs. Clair
Cochran of Pendleton, and as
sisting with the opening of the
gifts were the couple's daughter-in-laws,
Mrs. Clayton Wright
of Hermiston and Mrs. Bob
Wright of Umatilla.
Willa Pearl LeTrace and Or
lan Elmer Wright, both born In
Heppner of pioneer parents,
were joined In marriage in the
Heppner Methodist church on
December 24, 1917, by the Rev.
Noyes.
The couple's first home was
in the Rhea Creek area, 10
miles from Heppner, on a ranch
