INVITATION FOR BIDS
The City of Heppner, Morrow
County, Oregon, will receive
sealed bids for the construction
of Swimming Pool Renovation
and Bathhouse until 3:00 P.M.,
P. D. T., on the 30th day of
August, 1967. and bids will be
publicly opened and read aloud
Immediately thereafter.
Proposals shall be addressed
to the City Recorder and mailed
or delivered to the City Hall,
Heppner, Oregon.
The proposed work Includes:
Demolition work and site
preparation
Gunite pool structure, 40 feet
wide by 100 feet long
Pool decks
Pool recirculation pump ren
ovation Recirculation piping and
surge tank
Mechanical and electrical
Lighting and fencing
Special equipment and furn
ishings Bathhouse construction
Underwater lights (alternate)
Mechanical Room renovation
(alternate)
High diving board (alternate)
Bleachers (alternate)

Copies of contract documents
may be obtained from Clark &
Groff Engineers, Inc., upon de
posit of Thirty-Five Dollars
($35.00) for each set of docu
ments. The deposit will be re
funded upon return of the doc
uments in good condition with
in fitteen (15) days after the
bid opening.
Bidders must be prequalified
in accordance with the laws of
the State of Oregon. Form 40,
"Pre-Qualification State raent"
of the Associated General Con
tractors Form 24 shall be fur
nished to all contractors who
apply for plans and specifica
tions. Bids shall be entered on
formal proposal forms furnish
ed by the Engineers upon re
ceipt of a satisfactory pre-qual-ification
statement.
Each bid shall be accompa
nied by a bid bond in the
amount of 5 per cent (5) of
the total amount bid, payable to
the Uty of Heppner. The oid
bond shall serve as security that
the successful bidder shall en
ter into a contract to build the
proposed work, and shall fur
nish performance bond in the
amount of one hundred percent
(100) of the total contract
amount, and payment bond in
the amount of fifty percent
(50) of the total contract
amount.
The Owner reserves the right
to reject any or all bids, to de
lete certain items from the pro
posal and to postpone the
award lor thirty (30) days.

A junior hunter safety course,
sponsored by the Irrigon Lions
club, will be held on the even
ings of August 14, 16 and 18 at
Irrigon, according to Duane O.

and pleasure trip over the

and enjoyed golfing and visit

ner friends on Sunday. Pratt
will start his third year as prin
cipal of the Central Union High
school in Monmouth, after serv
ing as principal of Heppner
High school for several years.
