Stratton and Bob Lowe was an
nounced Thursday epenlng, May
23, at a gathering of close
friends and relatives.
The ceuple will be married In
Coquillc, Wednesday, June 7, by
Father Bruce Spencer and will
have a wedding trip along the
Oregon coast before returning
to Heppner. They plan to be at
home by Monday, June 10.

(Hughesl Healy gathered Sun
day, May 28, to honor her In the
observance of her 84th birthday.
A picnic pntio dinner was enjoy
ed at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Tom Hughes, complete with
birthday cakes and other special
remembrances. Mrs. Healy re
sides in the nursing home of
Pioneer Memorial hospital.
Coming from Portland for the
occasion were her son and fami
ly. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Healy,
Michelle, Marda and Megan.
Also a son in law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gronquist, and
daughter Karen of Pendleton;
another daughter, Mrs. R. B.
Rand of Boardman; a grand
son and wife, Mr. and Mrs.
Dennis Gronquist of Pendleton;
a granddaughter and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Dan Renessler and

John F. Pfeiffer is enjoying a
two-week leave at home from
duties with the U. S. Coast
Guard. Following leave, he will
return to Seattle to reboard the
Coast Guard Cutter htaten is
land, which is scheduled to ship
out In August for duties in
Alaskan waters.

At Farewell Dinner

Forest service couples from
Heppner Joined those from other
districts in the Umatilla Forest
area to honor Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Reason and Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Krieger with a going away din
ner pary Friday evening, May
2l, at the Tapadcra Restaurant
in Pendleton.
The group presented each
couple with a gift of a beauti
ful set of steak knives and wish
ed them well in their new
homes.
Bob and Shirley Benson and
family moved Monday, May 29,
to Entlat Wash., where he will
be District Ranger for the En
tiat Distrk-t of the Wenatchee
National Forest.
Jack and Ellen Krieger and
family will move next week to
the Verlot Ranger Station of the
Monte Crlsto District of Mt. Ba
ker National Forest where Jack
will be District Ranger. The
family will live in Granite Falls,
wn.

Age club for the season will be

copal Parish hall.
The meeting will start with a
pot luck at 7 pjn. AH members
and guests are invited. Meetings
