Candidates offered to Oregon voters in this election by
the Republican Tarty are among the most able, experienced and
personally attractive it has ever been our privilege to recom
mend. Republican candidates work for time-honored principles
for HUMAN VALUKS, which emphasize the rights, freedoms
and opportunities of the individual, and for fiscal responsibility,
which recognizes that no dollar can be spent by government
which has not first been taken from citizens.
Under Republican leadership in the executive and legis
lative branches of our state government, Oregon advanced far
beyond other states in civil rights legislation, education, "fair em
ployment practices, park and highway development, workmen's
compensation benefits, property tax relief and a host of other
areas.
The strength and benefits of this nation's two-party sys
tem can best be attained by electing more Republicans to repre
sent us in Washington, D. C.
