cartridges. It Is also illegal to
use anv military or full metal
laiketed bullet In original or al
tered form.
It Is unlawful to use rifle
with a caliber designation of
less than .25 Inch and develop
ing less than 1220 foot pounds
of energy at KM) yard for the
taking of elk. bighorn sheep,
mid mountain goats.
It Is unlawful to use rifles
with a caliber designation of
less than 2,'l Inch fur the tak
ing of nil other big game ani
mals. The long bow and cross bow
may be used In the general sea
son In lieu of shotgun or rlf
les; however, the cross bow may
not be used In lieu of the long
how In a specific archery sea
son Iplnnd bird and waterfowl
(hooters may hunt with shot
runs of 10 gauge or smaller
capable of holding no more
than three shells and using

Mule Buck Season

season throughout eastern Ore
gon Is scheduled to close one
naif hour after sundown on Oc
tober 2.1
The closure takes In all of
eastern Oregon lying to the east
of the Santlam, Mckenzie, Dix
on, and Itogue game manage
ment units. In general, this
boundary extends along the
summit of the Cascades.
Hunters ran ronlinue their
quest for blark-lalled deer in
western Oregon through October
30. Otwn area Includes all un
its west of the east boundary
of the Snntlam, Mckenzie, Dix
on, and Itogue units.
Buck hunters on the west l
side are limited to taking buck
deer with at least a forked antler.
New Officers Chosen
For Livestock Club
On September 25. the Ithea I
Creek 4-11 Livestock club held I
a meeting at the Gene Hall
home. All members were pres
ent. Dean Wright led the 1 H
pledge.
We elected new officers lor
the coming year. They are as
follows: Dave Hall president;
John Hall, vice president; Bob
Harris, secretary-treasurer; Dean
Wright, news reporter, and Di
anna Wright, song and recrea
tion leader. Itefreshmcnts were
served hv Mrs. Hall. Our next
meeting will be nt the Albert
Wright home on October 30.
