attended the Oregon Bar Asso
ciation annual meeting in Med
ford during the past week. Win
ter left last Wednesday morning
by auto and his wife followed
by plane the next day.
In addition to attending meet
ings, the Winters spent some
enloyable time touring historic
homes and buildings and visit
ing the antique shops and art
colony in Jacksonville. On Sat
urday they sow the .annual Tent
Show, an amateur production
put on by the Bar Association,
at the Shakespearean theatre
in Ashland.
Also attending the convention
were Mr. and Mm. Joe Bolfe,
who left Tuesday, September 27.
They stoped overnight to visit
friends In Salem, continuing to
Medford on Wednesday.
Mm. Bnlfe, who hud not been
to Medford before, was Impress
ed by its beautiful surround
ings. They returned to Heppner
on Saturday.

Annual Smorgasbord
October meeting of St. Pat
rick's Altar Society was devot
ed to discussion of plans for the
annual Harvest Smorgasbord,
planned for Sunday afternoon,
October 16, at the parish hall.
The meeting was well attend
ed, with Mrs. Pnt O'Brien and
Mrs. Glen Ward serving as hostesses.
The usual fine variety of
foods, prepared by members of
the parish, will bo served smor
gasbord style between the hours
of 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Sun
day, October 16. Tourists or
hunters In the area are extend

At Legion Dinner

Legion Auxiliary and friends
will meet Monday, October 10,
at 7 p.m. to hear reports of the
boys and girls who were dele
gates to Beaver Boys' State and
Girls' State during the summer
