TO THE
EDITOR.
July 20, 16
Dear Editor:
In regard to the July 14 let
tor hv Cenn Pierre. I would like
to state my appreciation of the
concern which Mr. Pierce has
shown by presenting Dr. Dod
son's article to the people as
food for thought.
While I do not profess to have
knowledge of how the war on
poverty Is progressing, I do
agree with the Impliea 1 1 o n
which Dr. Dodson presents. As
he implies, if you succeed in
destroying a person's need for
self-nctunlizatlon, a need which
phychologtsts and sociologists
regard as instinctive, you des
troy that person's drive to be-
mniA art inrtivliloal to do Anv.
thlnrr fnr himself What hetrer
way Is there of destroying this
need than rewarding a person
for sitting around with his hand
out and mouth open contribut
ing nothing to his own preser
vation? Thank you Mr. Tierce.
