Of State Bowling
Dave Barnett ha won first
place In class C In a state bowl-
Ins tournament at Icntury
Lanes. Portland, with a total
score of 646. His showing topped
other good results turned In by
other lleppnerltea In the tour
nament, which covered a total
of five weeks but was conclud
ed over the week end.
Barnett went to Portland with
the Morgan Elevator team, com
posed of Larry Rletmnn. Wayne
Ball Oliver Devln. Don Kubanks.
Barnett. and Gene Doherty aa
sub. They were there both Sat
urday and Sunday. Barnett had
scores of 216. 194. and 236 In
compiling his total which top
ped the 569 entrants In the
class.
He reclved a large trophy and
will get prize money of some
$150 to $200.

Betty Carlson Anderson, she was
born February 10. 1W3, at Ash
tabula. Ohio. Her home was In
Portland at the time of her mar
riage to Carl F. Bcrgstrom on
January 9. 1918. They have been
a prominent ranching family In
the lone area since coming here
following their marriage. She
was a member of Valhy Luther
an church: of Licut Chapter.

Besides her husband, surviv
ors Include one daughter, Mrs.
Dorothv Stefanl of lone; four

farewell Monday evening for
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Beach of
Hermlston and formerly of Lex

preparing barbecued salmon for

has accepted a position with a
firm In Phoenix, Ariz., and they
will be leaving soon.
