Read These Rules Carefully
The campaign territory will be divided Into two districts.
Those workers living in Heppner will be In District One. Work
ers living outside the city limits will be In District Two. Work
ers may sell subscriptions in any district, these divisions being
made only to assure fairness in awarding the prizes. Grand
prize will be awarded to the worker in either district finishing
the campaign with the highest vote score.
The worker in each district finishing the campaign with
the most votes in his own district alter the grand prize award
has been made will receive a District Capital Prize. Other
prizes will be awarded to the next highest workers in any
district by choice.
No employee or near relative of any employee of The
Gazette-Times is eligible to enter the campaign. Correspon
dent's families will be allowed to compete. Children under 16
years must have written consent of their parents or guardian
who will be expected to help the children.
In event of a tie, each tying candidate will be given a prize
identical in value.
A bonus of 2,000 votes will be given each candidate turning
in 3 or more subscriptions (either old or new) on the opening
day of the campaign, and an additional 3,000 extra votes will
be given to the candidate turning in the most subscriptions.
These bonus votes will be given for the next three report
days.
To insure absolute fairness the campaign will be brought
to a close under the sealed ballot box system. All subscriptions
and money collected the last three days of the campaign
must be in the sealed ballot box when the campaign closes.
Wednesdays and Saturdays will be known as report days,
and all candidates are positively required to hand in all their
subscriptions on each of the report days.
Votes will be Issued on both new and old subscriptions.
Credit for extra votes will be Issued at the convenience of the
campaign manager.
Workers collecting more than one subscription required to
qualify his nomination before the opening day will be barred
from the campaign. Candidates living outside the city may
bring or mail their Saturday's reports on Monday and their
Wednesday's reports on Thursday except the last report which
must be on the last day.
Prizes must be won in accordance with the conditions of
the campaign and no candidate will be promised a certain
prize for so many subscriptions or so much money.
Workers are not confined to their own town or neighborhood
to sell subscriptions, but may get orders from any person at
any address.
Only one member of a family will be allowed to enter; but
all members of the family are urged to help their workers.
Cash must accompany all subscriptions. The management
reserves the right to add to these rules for the protection of
this newspaper and candidates.
After the Grand Prize and capital prizes aer awarded, the
candidate having the next highest number of votes will get
first choice of the prizes. The second highest the next choice,
etc. Those winning commissions will have checks mailed not
later than the following Tuesday.

the campaign. To be considered active a worker must turn in at least
two subscriptions each report day Wednesdays and Saturdays ..

until 8 p.m., starting today. Those who wish
to bring their parents with them when they
sign up to work will thereby have an opportun

Important Notice
Workers are not allowed to do any advance
work on the campaign before Saturday. Any
candidate getting promises or selling more than
one subscription, which they are allowed to
bring with their nomination blank will be dis
qualified from working in the campaign. This
is in fairness to all candidates. Get your sup
plies today and be ready for a good start Sat
urday morning.
You may sell one subscription, and bring
the money for it when you come to the
office with your entry blank any time this
week-end. We will fill out your first receipt
and show you how to use your receipt
books. '
Boys and girls under 16 years of age must
have the written consent of their parents

Parents are allowed and encouraged to
help their worker. Parent's signature on
entry blank Is sufficient.
