Church Celebrates 50th Anniversary At Special Services The Lexington Chris 1 1 a n church celebrated its 50th anni versary on Sunday, May 16, with several past members returning to enjoy the day's festivities. The church was organized Jan uary 8, 1915, as the Lexington Church of Christ, with Evange list Jessie Kellems and Song Leader James McCallum in charge of the organization meet ing. Coming from Salem to give the special anniversary sermon was the Kev. Cecil Warner, a former resident of Lexington, he was accompanied by his wife. Others coming from out of the area Included Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Messenger, Mitchell; Mr. and. Mrs. Steven Doak, Opportunity, Wn.; Effie Ritchie, Milton-Free-water; Mr. and Mrs. Mel Bates, Pendleton; Mrs. Winnie Zinter, lone, and grandchildren Lois, Charlotte, Melanie, Irene, Elaina and Bonnie Jean Messenger, all of Ilermiston; Bonnie Skarloken, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Paine, Ron Engle, Mora and Marguerite Smallwood, all of Hermlston.
