heart attack at Reno, Nev., whtle
on a vacation. He Is survived by
his widow Zclma of Portland,
who was with him on the trip.
William N'lchols returned from
St. Anthony's hospital In Pen
dleton on Tuesday. Mrs. Mchols
and Mrs. Charles Kirk went over
after him. He has been In trac
tton for some time with a pain
ful back Injury.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Morgan
returned on Monday evening
from a week's trip to Washing
ton, D. C, and New York City.
Mr. Morgan attended a meeting
of the Wheat Utilization pro
tern committee. In New York
they attended the Wold's ralr,
which they found to be very
crowded due to spring vacations
and tho recent opening. They
also enjoyed seeing two stage
shows In New York.
Mrs. Carol Miller and Mrs. Ida
Coleman left Friday for the
State TOPS convention at Coos
Bay. Over 1000 members from
over the state attended. Return
ing home on Sunday, they stop
ped along the beach and Mrs.
Coleman fell and Injured her
leg. She was unable to work In
the school cafeteria on Monday.

Laird Improving
Harold Laird Is improving
from injuries suffered In an
auto accident about two weeks
ago near Butter Creek Junction
on the highway to Echo. Bone
of an elbow was chipped in the
accident, which demolished his
auto. Laird said that he reached
down to pick an article from the
car floor, and while his atten
