surgery on Wednesday at St.
Vincent hospital.
Dallas Dalzell spent the week
end with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Vern Dalzell. He has Just
completed the fall term and has
enrolled winter term at Colum
bia Basin College, at Pasco.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Morgan
returned Wednesday evening
from a four-day trip to Spokane,
where they attended Washing-
ton Wheat Growers League.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Llndstrom
left on Sunday for a business
trip to Portland.
Claude Brcshears of Lyle, Wn,
brought Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ray
to lone for the week end. They
were guests of Mrs. E. C Hel-
Iker.
The local post office was open
al day last Saturday and will
be open until 5:00 p.m. Decem
ber 19. announces Mrs. Charles

baby son returned to their home
In Pendleton last Thursday. Her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Pettyjohn. Sr.. took their other
little grandson, Jeffrey, home on
Monday.
Mrs. Gottfried Hermann has
moved to her new home In Her
miston. Their home about three
miles south of town, was re
cently purchased by Mr. and
Mrs. Conley Lanham of Hcpp
ncr. Mr. Hermann is a patient
at the Veteran's hospital In
Walla Walla.
Band Concert Entertains Public
A large crowd of school pat
rons enjoyed a fine band con
cert last Wednesday under the
direction of Carol Miller, band
instructor. The Junior high band
played a croup of numbers fol
lowed by the fifth grade band.
The high school band concluded
the program with a good variety
of numbers. The cafetorlum was
appropriately decorated in the
Christmas theme.
