Class of '68 Guests
At Dinner Party
Mothers of Eighth Grade
"graduates" went all-out Satur
day evening to bring a happy
climax to their children's grade
school years. The class of 54
students, with teachers and sup
ervisors as guests, were enter
tained at a dinner and dance at
the Catholic parish hall.
Mothers prepared and served
the ham dinner, complete with
homemade rolls, strawberry sun
daes and dainty cupcakes dec
orated as May baskets. Miniature
maypoles centered the long
tables. A large banner in front
carried the class motto: "Sail on
ward, through life's breakers
roll."
Program numbers were intro
duced by honorary hostess, Mrs.
Fred Gimbel. Steve Pettyjohn
extended a word of welcome for
the class and all students were
presented a carnation corsage or
boutonniere, along with a scroll
of the class prophecy. Principals
Hillard Brown and Gordon Pratt
were each introduced by John
Rawlins, and each gave remarks
of encouragement and challenge
to the students. A piano duet,
"Salute to the Colors" by Mrs.
Gimbel and son Ricky was en
joyed by all.
Dancing followed to favorite
records of the students.
Mrs. Marshall Lovgren served
as general chairman for the
evening, assisted by Mrs. Gene
Hall, Mrs. Bob Abrams, and
many of the mothers helping
with cooking, serving and cleanup.

Pinochle Club Meets
At Cutsforth Home
Mrs. Kenneth Cutsforth was
hostess last Thursday to eleven
women who gathered at her
home for an evening of pinochle
Play.
Prize for high score was won
by Mrs. James Phegley, who
highlighted the evening by meld
ing 1500 trump. The tallies re
vealed Mrs. Don Griffith to be
second high. Mrs. Phegley also
won the pinochle prize.
Mrs. Cutsforth served a chilled
strawberry dessert with coffee to
her guests that Included Mrs.
Delmer Buschke, Mrs. Doyle Key,
Mrs. Elmer Berry, Mrs. Bernard
Damon. Mrs. Larry Simmons,
Mrs. Darrell McLachlan, Mrs.
Ralph Marlatt, Mrs. Delbert
Piper, Mrs. Jim Devine, Mrs.
Phegley and Mrs. Griffith.

Sperry Reunion Set
Relatives of the Pioneer Sperry
family will gather Sunday, June
7, at Hat Rock State Park for
their annual reunion, it is an
nounced. Friends of family
members are cordially invited
to attend. The affair will start
with a potluck dinner at noon.
