For Lundell-Stack
Wedd ing in Portland
The marriage of Miss Karen
Rae Lundell to Francis Paul
Stack will be an event of Satur
da, December 28, at St. James
Lutheran church, 1315 S. W. Park
Ave. In Portland. Vows will be
exchanged at 2:00 p.m.
The family takes this means
of extending a cordial invitation
to all friends and relatives in
the area to attend the ceremony
and reception which will follow
in the church social rooms.
The bride-elect is the daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
W. Lundell, lone. Parents of Mr.
Stack are Mr. and Mrs. Bertrand
Stack of Big Sandy, Mont. Both
young people are students at
Pacific Lutheran college in Ta
coma, Wn., where they are en
rolled in pre-medical courses.
They will return to college after
the wedding to complete their
senior year.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamlin
returned Tuesday from a week's
visit in Gresham at the home
of Mr. Hamlin's brother-in-law
and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Van
Doninck and with many former
friends there. The Hamlins ex
pect to leave next week on a
trip to California and Arizona
to spend several weeks with
friends and relatives.

In Week's Play
Mrs. Clint Agee entertained
tw0 card clubs with four tables
of bridge in her home Monday
evening. Winning high for one
card club was Mrs. Marshall
Lovgren, and Mrs. Gordon Pratt
was high for the other. Second
high for the entire group was
Mrs. Wayne Prock, Mrs. Arnie
Hedman was low, and Mrs. Don
McClure won the traveling prize.
Others attending were Mrs.
Jim Gordon, Mrs. Fred Gimbel,
Mrs. Gerald Jonasson, Mrs. Da
vid McLeod, Mrs. Pat O'Brien,
Mrs. Riley Munkers, Mrs. Jerry
Schubert and Mrs. Terry Thomp
son. Coffee and cookies were en
joyed throughout the evening.

Mrs. Elmer Berry was hostess
at a pinochle party held in her
home last Tuesday evening. Mrs.
Morgan Connor won high, Mrs.
Stacey Lovgren was second, and
Mrs. Don Munkers was low. The
door prize was won by Mrs. Bob
Buschke.
Others enjoying the evening
of cards and refreshments of
coffee and pineapple upsidedown
cake were Mrs. Clyde Alstott,
Mrs. Kenneth Cutsforth, and Mrs.
Ivan McDaniel.

All eight club members were
present for two tables of pin
ochle Friday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. Hannah Anderson.
Winning high was Mrs. Charlie
Beckett and Mrs. Max Harris had
low score. Mrs. Art Watkins and
Mrs. Charlie Beckett joined forces
to win the pinochle prize.

Masons Slate Film
For Tuesday Meeting
All Masons in the Heppner
area are urged to attend the
showing of the Carl H. Claudy
film next Tuesday evening, De
cember 17, according to Clarence
Baker, master of Heppner Lodge
No. 69.
The film covers a lecture by
Claudy, one of the best author
ities on Masonic science. It will
be viewed at 9:00 p.m. after the
regular communication at the
Masonic Lodge hall.
Catholic Party Set
The Catholic pansn hall will
be the scene of a parish Christ
mas party Sunday, December 15,
at 12:30 in the afternoon begin
ning witih a potluck dinner. San
ta will be there and the festiv
ities will also include movies for
both the adults and the children.

Convening at the Masonic hall,
after first attending the Epis
copal Christmas bazaar and
luncheon, members of the Order
of Eastern Star Social club en
joyed their regularly scheduled
afternoon of cards Saturday,
with three tables of bridge and
several of pinochle. Winning
high score in bridce was Mrs.
Mervin Leonard and in pinochle,
Mrs. bona lurner.

To Seat Masonic
Officers Saturday
Joint Installation of new of
ficers of Heppner Lodge No. 69,
AF&AM, and Royal Arch Ma
sons, Chapter No. 26, will be held
Saturday, December 14, at 8:00
p.m. in the Heppner Masonic
hall.
The installation will be pro
ceded by a 6:30 dinner at the
hall for Masons, members of the
Eastern Star, their wives and
husbands. A committee of mem
bers of the Eastern Star will be
in charge of the dinner, under
the supervision of Mrs. Lowell
Gribble, worthy matron.
New officers of Heppner Lodge
No. 69 are: Ray Williamson, wor
shipful master; Fred L. Gimbel,
senior warden; Len Ray Schwarz,
junior warden; Marcel Jones,
