Speeding Car Misses Girl
Little Greta LeBlanc narrowly
escaped serious injury last week
as she was waiting in front of
Carrie's Cafe for the traffic to
go by in order to cross the high
way. While she was waiting, an
east-bound car suddenly swung
into the parking lane and dame
speeding towards the child.
Greta saw the car and, jump
ing out of its way, left her thongs
behind. The car ran over her
thongs, and raced on without
stopping. The episode left her
parents and several onlookers
thoroughly shaken, and leaves
many Irrigon citizens wondering
what it will take to convince
those in authority that the pres
ent speed limit of 50 miles per
hour through Irrigon should def
initely be lowered.
