4-H SERVES IN MANY FIELDS
Widespread changes in agricultural tech
nology in recent years are being faced squar
ely in 4-H. Leaders realize it is neither possi
ble nor desirable for all farm youth to stay
on farms. So rural members and others re
ceive help in becoming well-rounded individ
uals who can earn and serve in many fields.
This informal out-of-school learning sup
plements the training given in the home,
school, church, and elsewhere. Popular 4-H
projects, meeting youth needs today in both
rural and suburban areas, include career ex
ploration, automotive care and safety, elec
trification, health and nutrition, personality
improvement, leadership and citizenship development.
