MONUMENT The Columbia
Power Co-op held its annual
meeting Saturday, December 1,
at the Monument gym. Free
lunch was served at noon at the
Legion-Grange hall. Mrs. Mary
Corley of Hamilton won the door
prize, an electric hot water heat
er. A pink and blue shower was
held recently at the Williams
home for Mrs. H. W. Scott. There
were 25 ladies and five childien
present. Mrs, Scott received
many nice gifts. Hostesses were
Mrs. Thelma Williams, Mrs.
Nestle Erhardt, Mrs. Janet Lew's
and Mrs. Nestle Davis.
The high school put on a play,
"We Dude It," followed by a
dance on December 1. Jimmy
Lewis and Randy Blakley orch
estra from radio station KUBE
in Pendleton played music for
the dance.
Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Forrest
have moved from their ranch on
the river into town to make their
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gertson
and two Capon children drove
to Portland recently to attend
the 50th wedding anniversar,'
of Mrs. Gertson's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Ranken.
Miss Dorothy .Merrell of Boise,
Idaho, brought her uncle, May

Floyd Smith took Mrs. Smith's
small son, Oscar, to Portland
this week where he is receiving
medical attention.
Tommy Steagall was brought
home by his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. George Steagall, last week
from the Pendleton hospital
where he had been a patient for
some time.

demonstration to the Knif t y
Knitters on December 3 at Jill
Padberg's home on how to de
crease stiches. She told us that
"P.S.S.O" meant to "pass slip
stitch over." She also told us that
a way we could decrease is to
knit two stitches together.
