Couple Celebrates
Golden Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. W. A. French,
Heppner, celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary at the
home of their daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Cornett
Green, Sunday, November 11.
Mr. and Mrs. French were
married November 12, 1912 at
the home of Mrs. French's par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gay,
on Rhea Creek and is now
known as the Heath farm. They
have lived in and around the
Heppner area all of their mar
ried life and h
still living here, Mrs. Cornett
inureiicej oreen and Bill, who
makes his home with them.
Another dauehter. Mrs Wa r i
(Jessie) Baker lives in Bothell,
wn. near Seattle. They have
nine grandchildren and six great
grandchildren.

and Mrs. Jim Green and two
children, Arlington.
Mr. French was originally
from England and he still has
live sisters ana one Brother liv
ing there. One sister was born
after he had left and he has
never been able to return to see
her or other members of the
family. His grandson, Wilson
Estes, returned in September
from a 3-month bicycling tour of
Europe with two other boys and
spent some time in England
staying with relatives of Mr.
French.
During Sunday afternoon, Wil
son showed many colored slides
of the French family living in
England and of the countryside
that he enjoyed seeing while
there.
Dick Robison was home from
his training in barber school in
Portland over the week-end, vis
iting his wife, Joan and baby
son, Craig, and with his grand
mother, Mrs. Maud Robison.

Past Noble Grands.
Elect New Officers
Members of the Past Noble
Grands club of Sans Souci Re
bekah lodge No. 33 met for their
annual fall dinner meeting at
the home of Mrs. Cornett Greei
last Thursday.
The grouo does not hold reeu
lar meetings, after the fall ses
sion. They help with lodge pro
grams throughout the year and
if there is a need to hold a meet
ing for any purpose it is called
later.
Following dinner, an election
of officers for the coming year
was held with Mrs. M. N. Kirk,
Hermiston, president; Mrs. Don
aid Robinson, vice president;
and Mrs. Jonn Bergstrom, re-el
ected secretary-treasurer. Out
going president is Mrs. Robert
Van Houte; retiring vice-presi
dent is Mrs. Randall Martin.
Secret pals were revealed at
this time and each member drew
names for a new secret pal for
tne coming year.
Carnation Club Sets
Dinner November 27
Thirteen members present for
the Carnation club meeting last
Thursday evening discussed the
annual Thanksgiving dinner to
be held November 27 at the
Christian church.
The Degree of Honor lodge will
furnish the turkey, rolls and cot-
fee, and members will bring pot-
luck for the remainder of the
dinner. This dinner is for all
members and their families and
will begin at 6:00 p. m.
Mrs. Bill Farra gave a demon
stration on making art-foam
lint dusters for use about the
home. Marilyn Bergstrom won
the Dutch auction on the prize
which had been brought by
Alice Luttrell. The next meeting
will be December 13 at the home
of Mrs. Mary Bryant. This will be
the Christmas party and the sec
ret pals are revealed.
Hostesses for the Thursday
meeting were Mrs. John Berg
strom and daughter Marilyn.
Open House to Honor
Morgans' Anniversary
In honor of the 25th Wedding
Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Mil
ton Morgan, an open house is
planned for Sunday, November
18, at their home in lone. Friends
and relatives are invited to come
and greet the couple between the
hours of 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. The
Morgans express their desire that
guests do not bring guts.
Making arrangements for the
occasion are Mrs. A. K. Craw
ford, Mrs. Delmer Crawford and
Mrs. Tad Miller.

Add 1 Vl cups Albert Flapjack Flour to 14 cup Albers Yellow
Corn Meal. Blend dry and add Carnation Milk, diluted halt
with water, and stir until you get the consistency of good
flapjack batter. Place skewer stick in end of weiner, roll in
