held at the courthouse in Bend
June 19. Tentative values and
procedures were presented by the
commission and discussed.
Policies establishing the effec
tive place of application for the
tax and the particular volume
scales to be used were also re
viewed. Industry requested these
oe established by the Commis
sion and accompany stumpage
values to be posted July 1. The
commission is complying with
tins request.

received word Tuesday from their
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lois
Schunk and sons Dale, Karl and
Kurt, that they are taking perm
anent residence in Martinez,
Calif. They left Heppner three
weeks ago. after spending the
winter here following the death
oi thiel Albert Schunk in an
airplane accident while on duty
in Japan last October.
Mrs. Schunk has several close
relatives in the San Francisco
Bay area and expects to have
permanent employment there as
soon as the family is settled.
She still has items stored at the
Schunk home and expects to re
turn in a lew weeks to get them.
