On 30th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hutchens
were honored on their 30th wed
ding anniversary February 1,
with a surprise party at the home
of their daughter and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Key..
Mr. and Mrs. Hutchens were
married February 1 in Vancouver,
Wn.
They have four daughters, Mrs.
Morgan Connor, Mrs. Ivan Mc
Daniel Eaker, Mrs. Key, and
Barbara Jean, a junior at Hepp
ner High school, and five grand
children. Mrs. Key served coffee and
cake to guests, Mr. and Mrs.

United Nations Youth
Group Attend Meet
Members of the United Nations
Youth Pilgrimage committee,
sponsored by the Odd Fellows
lodge, gathered in Pendleton on
Sunday for a meeting to discuss
this year's contest and set the
finals of the district speech con
test in Pendleton on March 4.
The winner is given a trip to
the United Nations.
Mrs. M. N. Kirk, Hermiston,
chairman, and R. G. McMurtry,
secretary-treasurer, atlended the
meeting. Also going irom nere
were Mr. and Mrs. Irank fayne.
Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Nash, and
Mrs. McCurtry.
Degree Plans Sale

Project plans were changed at
the executive meeting of the De
gree of Honor lodge held Mon
day night at the home of Mrs.
Prudy Casebeer.
Due to conflicting dates, the
members shelved the tasting
dinner and card party plans set
for February 12 and decided on
a cooked food sale February 17
at the Heppner Red ai d Whits
store starting at 10:00 a. m. Mrs.
Lincoln Nash, Degree of Honor
president, is in charge of the
sale with the members partici
pating with various food items
to go on sale.
