bourg will speak at an informal
meeting of 4-H members, parents,
friends and all interested people
at the Heppner fair pavilion at
8:00 P. M., according to Esther
Klrmis and Joe Hay, county ex
tension agents.
Miss Roesgen, 24, is visiting
at the Fredrick Martin home,
lone, from August 6 to 26 where
she is experiencing the many
facets of ranch life in Eastern
Oregon.
She will speak at tne aoropi
imist Club, Heppner, at their
noon luncheon .on Thursday,
August 24. She has already vis
ited the lone uaraen ciud on
August 8, and the Heppner
Chamber of commerce, Augusi

and to learn of this "people-to-people"
program sponsored by
the 4-H Club Foundation to fur
ther world peace.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Irby left
August 4 for Spokane where
they picked up her mother, Mrs.
Ella Bleakman who had been
visiting there. They were guests
of Mrs. Irby's aunt and uncle,
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Lindburg.
On their return thev toured sev
eral lakes In northern Idaho be
fore coming home last Sunday
evening.
Tim Loyd, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Loyd, spent last week visit
ing with his aunt and uncle,
Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Ernest in
Longview, Wn., and vacation
with them on the coast
Mr. and Mra. Bill Labhart and
family left last week on an ex
tended trip to Southern Calif
ornia with plans to visit Disney
land and other points of interest.

"I found out that rose growing

when I found out Marie loves
flowers as much as I do. "We
invited her to speak before the

surely flew thick and fast."
"I like the cookies she bakes,"
was 16-year old Ralph's com
ment. (He leases her like a kid
brother). "She has a little diffi
culty translating her native reci
pes of grams and liter Into our
cups and quarts, but what she
bakes comes out mighty good."

raisin cookies and bean soup).
She and Joan Martin, who will
enter Oregon State as a fresh
man In September, are finding
it interesting to talk "girl talk."
"She tells me that there is
plenty of youthful marriages In
their cities too, tells Jean, "But
they don't date so early in the

Fyette. Indiana. Other farm stu
dents visiting In Oregon for the
next three months Include young
people of Netherlands, Vene
zuala, Poland, Finland, and Is
rael. Questioned about her future
Dlans when she returns to Lux
embourg, Marie has this to say.
"I will not be content to Btay
at home now I've grown so
much this past year. This IFYE
experience has made my world
wide. I think now I would like
to train for a nurse a nurse for
children."
