home last week after visiting In
Seattle with her son and family,

While In Seattle, the Aldrlch
family motored to Canada where
they visited for a few days.
Cut While Gardening
Mrs. Harvey King had the mis
fortune last week to cut her In
dex finger on her left hand while
doing some gardening. It was
necessary for her to go to a doc
tor. Ten stitches were required
to close the wound and repair
the cut tendon In her finger.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ball were
hosts to a dinner party on Sun
day at their home for Mr. and
Mrs. Vernon Christopherson and
daughters of Lone Rock, Mr. and
Mrs. Lewis Ball and Elmer Peter
son. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Al

land passed away on July 30,
1961 at a nursing home In Port
land. He Is survived by his
widow. May. of Portland, a
daughter, Mrs. Ray Farrls of
Portland, a son, William, of New
York City, and one sister, Mrs.
Lana Padberg of lone.
Mr. Wood was born April 22,
IRK), the son of Albert and Sarah
Perkins Wood. He was born about
three miles below lone and spent
the largest part of his earlier life
In this community. He moved to
the valley about 35 years ago.
