HISTORY REVIEWED PRIOR TO MEETING
In the year of 1901 at the the by-laws were made and ac
eraduatlon of the lleppner High
School there was one young lady,
Lilian Cockran. who naa as ner
deepest desire and ambition to
become a teacher. Not Just a
teacher, but a successful one
with the thought for the pupil
always upiermost In mind.
She had been doing some
substitute teaching under her
hiph school principal. Professor
Rcld, so Immediately after grad
uation in 1901 she went to Grant
countv to becln her teaching
career, returning to lleppner as
seventh and eighth graae
teacher In 1906. In 1909 on Christ
mas Dav she was united in mar
riage with Frank Turner of that
itv. She continued her teaching
for aulte a number of years with I
only time out when her children
were small.
