doing most of their scoring.
In the final quarter Heppner
went down hill Just enough to
give the game to Burns. Burns
came up with 16 points and Hep
pner got 12. Ron Gray. Bruce
Moyor and Green kept the Hep
pner team alive In the last half
but Just could not manage to
get ahead.
Saturday night the Mustang
team won praise from Coach

Herjnner Hich's Junior Varsity
had a Derfect week end of play
as they defeated the Burns JV's
both niuht. Friday night Hep
pner earned a 46 to 40 victory.
Saturday night Heppner had to
flcht for everything they got
and had to go into an overtime
to come out on top 47 to 4b.
In Saturday night's game Hep
pner came back In the second
half after playing probably their
worst first half of the season,
to trim the Burns squad. With
three seconds to go on the score
board clock Kit George went Into
the near corner and shot a 15
foot Jump shot to tie the game
up.
In the overtime Dick Springer
and Archie Ball hit field goals
that gave Heppner the win.
Friday night Heppner also had
its ups and downs and the down
came in the second period when
they got only 4 points and Burns
tallied for 13. Heppner then had
a hot third period where they
scored 23 points with Shan Apple
gate aiding the squad with 12
points.
Friday night Heppner was led
by Applegate with 18 for Hep
pner and Gil Okita for Burns
with 13. Saturday night Heppner
was led by Ball who had 14
and Oklta again led the Burns
team with 16.
Heppner will play the Mad
ras JV team for the last series
of the year for the JV's this
week end.
