WE NEED a man who knows by first-hand experience the intimate
workings of the National Security Council and who has
worked with leaders throughout the free world in promo-
ting peace.
WE NEED a man who believes in a sound money policy. We do
not need a man who recommends to Congress unneces
sary legislation calling for Federal Aid to everything,
which only adds to our tax burden. We do not want to
send more dollars to Washington for so-called services
which we should provide for ourselves. .
WE DO NOT NEED bigger government with more controls over our
daily lives. We want to continue our freedom and to
make our own decisions.
NIXON HAS THE KNOW-HOW TO KEEP THE PEACE, MOVE
THE ECONOMY AHEAD AND EXTEND FREEDOM THROUGH
OUT THE WORLD.
WE BELIEVE THIS ELECTION WILL DECIDE THE FATE OF THE FREE WORLD
OUR COUNTRY
In rebuttal to the "facts" presented in an ad in this paper
by "Farmers for Kennedy":
1 How can "real taxes be up 700 and Income be down In the seme proportion"
when at the same time everyone is able to enjoy such a high standard of living?
2 We submit that inflation has been encouraged by a Democratic Congress
which has passed inflationary legislation. True, the Department of Agriculture
has cost the tax payers much money, but it has only been administering an un
realistic price support program originated by. a Democratic Administration and
perpetuated by Democratic Congresses who refuse to correct the problem. Let u
not forget the agricultural expenditures of the Truman administration. They spent
17 times more on the price supports for peanuts than they allotted tor long-range
missiles.
3. We would ask this group, how could "the last THREE Republican Presidents"
veto the Oregon Wheat League program? Do you mean Elsenhower, Hoover and
Coolidge? Let's not be ridiculous when presenting fact. Eisenhower did veto a
"catch all" Omnibus Farm Bill that contained the Two Price Wheat Plan along
with many features which were unacceptable. In the Official Voter's Pamphlet
we can not find where any Democrat candidate aupport the Wheat League
Program.
The Democrats continue to use the wheat problem at a
vote-getting device. Why hasn't the Democrat-con-trolled
Congress passed a workable wheat bill?
