TliU l the first time we've
had a little free time to write
letter. So often we returned late
to our hotel and had to do a
little laundry or get racked to
leave next day.
It'a been a wonderful experi
ence. I found Ireland, Scotland,
and England much like our coun
try. The trees and f lower are
about the name. The towna have
parka and flower garden every
where. Every house has a flower
garden In the front the "yard"
I In the tack where they "put
'thine." L'tually a v of flow

huuu wnh little balevnlra will
have geranium or other fl'w
er. Such a lovely cuxtum!
I wti Interested In their refor
estation program In Scotland.
They plant the tree clone to
gether m they will grow straight

khoring In the mine.
The heather growing on the
hllKlde was beautiful.
The hay wa In small shucks.
We thought It was oat, hut they
called It corn. We saw hay
preal over wires to dry It In
Norway and other place.
In Norway we had amorgas
bord for breakfast! So much food
-rved u I'm afraid I'll have to
buy a new wardrobe.
Saw self projelIed combine.
Children had "potato vacation"
to pick (2 or 3 days) potatoes In
Norway while we were there.
School schedule In Oslo 1 very
broken. Children go at 8:00 a.m.
one day ami return nome at
11:30. Another day they go at
11:30 and return about 2:30. Pity
the poor mothers with their
school children all on different
schedules and they vary from

Un teacher, told me this one
about her first day of class.
"To get acquainted with the
new children," she said, "I go
around the classroom and ask
them to recite their names."
"What's your name?" I
asked one little boy. "Freddie."
was the reply. "You mean
Frederick," I aaid, "We use
only our proper names in
class." So when I asked the
next little boy what his name
was, be stood up proudly and
answered, "Boberick, ma'am!"

mind me of folks who think
what's rlfht for one mnat be
rlfhl for another. For Instance,
my neighbor used to scoff at
my bavins; a food class of beer
with supper. He believed that
only coffee wss proper. Truth
Is, a mealtime beversce, like
most ether thbirs. Is purely s
matter of personal preference.
When we can respect the other
fellow's opinion as well as our
own, we'll have passed the first
