Nickerson at Boise, Idaho.
Mrs Earl Briggs was hostess
for a picnic at her home Wed
nesday afternoon of last week
for members of the Ladies Aid
Society of Community Church.
There were 14 members present,
and guests were Mrs Claud Coats,
Mrs Glen Carpenter, Mrs Walter
Hayes and Mrs Algy Taylor.
Mrs Russell Miller was in
charge of the missionary pro
gram, and read an article, "Ten
minute Testimony."
Eaii Briggs has returned home
from St Anthony's Hospital in
Pendleton.
Mr and Mrs Kenneth Wooten
entertained the members of the
Young People's Group of Com
munity Church with a party at
their home following church
services Sunday night.
Mrs Oscar Veelle, Sr of Esta
cada is visiting at the home of
her daughter, Gracia Stewart.
Mr and Mrs Joe Tatone and
children Linda and Jody went
to La Grande Sunday to attend
the reunion of the graduating
class of 1940 of La Grande high
school. The Tatones all left for
Portland Tuesday where Jody
was to have more eye surgery
at Good Samaritan hospital Wed
nesday morning.
Temperatures were up in
Boardman again Tuesday when
maximums were around 100 degrees.

weekend. They stopped to see
his mother, Reeta Hinton then
went on to Fox to see her folks,
Mr and Mrs A Leasey. They also
attended a bridal shower that
was held for them Sunday even
ing. Mr and Mrs Harold Lippert
spent Saturday evening in Long
Creek.

ing at the Harry Scott home.
Elmo Lewis has been in the
John Day hospital since the 25th
and is very low.
Lyle Van Dusen has been a
patient in the John Day hos
pital since Monday evening
when he was found unconscious
beside his horse.
Dale L Matteson of Heppner
spent the weekend here with his
folks.
Miss Laura Lee Shank and the
Stubblefield girls drove Henry
Cupper to the Dayville bus stop.
He left for Yellowstone Park
