the national club conference In

Kitchens In The Sixties

new oven control on modern gas
ranges which lets you keep food
warm without overcooking. With
this new dial control, you can
set the oven as low as 140 de
grees. Previously, the lowest
oven setting was about 250 de
grees, but at this temperature
food continues to cook.
Lower oven temperatures with
this control may be used to keep
food warm until ready to serve
or when guests arrive late.
Homemakers will use these low
er oven settings to thaw frozen
foods quickly, warm bread and
rolls, and heat leftovers like
mashed potatoes.

Eighteen 4-H clubs, involving
23 4-H leaders, now form an all
time high In 4-H club member
ship In north Morrow county,
according to Esther Klrml and
Joe Hay, Morrow county exten
sion agents.
Purposes of a council which
Include 4-H leader training;
planning area activities such as
summer school, camp and fairs;
exchanging Ideas between lead
ers; and helping to secure new
leaders were discussed by the
leaders and agents.
It was agreed that the council
would meet the fourth Tuesday
evening of each month alter
nating meeting places between
Irrlgon Grange hall and the
Boaraman scnooi.
The new officers, along with
county agents Klrmls and Hay,
met on Tuesday evening, Feb
ruary 16, to set up committees
on national awards, ways and
means, summer school selection
national 4-H club week and Sun
day; achievement part; record
keeping; and hostessing council
meetings.
The first official meeting of
the council is called for Tues
day, February 23 at the Irrlgon
Grange hall, at 8:00 p m.
