Presents Pupils In
Sunday Recital
Mrs Victor Kreimeyer presen
ted her pupils in a piano re
cital Sunday afternoon at 3 p m
in her home. The program con
sisted of well known and loved
Christmas carols, folk songs and
dances as well as selections from
the Masters.
The following pupils partici
pated: Susan Melby, Mark Koe
nig, Mary Johnson, Mary Pierce,
Kristy Koenlg, John Rawlins,
Martha Pierce, Mike Koenig, Lin
da Clark, Judy Jones, Paula Sie
wert, Joan Stockard, Meredith
Webb, Jean Siewert, Marlene
Fetsch and Gail Batty.
At the end of the program, Mrs
Kreimeyer awarded prizes to the
winners of the practice contest.
In the 7 to 10 year old group,
Mary Pierce won first, John
Rawlins, second and Paula Sie
wert, third. In the 11 to 15 year
old group, Gail Batty won first,
Jean Siewert, second and Mere
dith Webb, third. The winners of
the first prize received small
gold and white piano pins, sec
ond and third prize winners were
awarded composer busts.
Mothers of the pupils fur
nished and served refreshments
to the group following the recital.
Social Club Meets
Saturday Afternoon
The Social Club of Ruth chap
ter no 32, OES met for a no
hostess luncheon Saturday after
noon at All Saints Episcopal ba
zaar and then went to the Ma
sonic temple for cards later.
Mrs Harry Tamblyn received
high score in bridge and Mrs
Joe Wright was high in pinochle
for the afternoon.

Have Birthday Party
Mistletoe Rebekah lodge no 25
met Tuesday afternoon, Dec 1
with Ida Lee Chapel, noble
grand, presiding. There were
nine members and one visitor
present
The visitation committee re
ported past noble grand, Rose
Collins, still seriously ill in Pio
neer Memorial hospital and
Adraln Bechdolt was reported to
be much improved and now con
valescing at home.
The Polly Pal club reported the
two public dances were well at
tended and there will be another
one Dec 12 and the club's Christ
mas party will follow the next
regular meeting on Dec 15.
After lodge, Mrs Dolly Fraters
was given a surprise birthday
party and handkerchief shower.
Those present were Mr and Mrs
Deb Wright, Mrs Vern Batty,
Archie Bechdolt, Mrs Jesse Batty,
Mrs Marie Leslie, Mrs Anne Les
lie, Mrs Rose Hams, Mrs Emma
White.
The hostesses were Mrs Helen
Stevens, Mrs Delsie Chapel, Mrs
Ida Lee Chapel.

At Gene Hall Home

her bridge club, The Renegers,
Wednesday evening of last week.

Soroptimist Club
Plans Many Projects
For Christmas Time
The regular monthly business
meeting of the Soroptimist Club
of Heppner was held Thursday
noon at the Wagon Wheel.
Committee reports were given
and Mrs William Collins was
elected to the board of directors,
to fill the vacancy left by the
resignation of Mrs Al Mattoon.
It was voted to dispense with
the December 24 and 31 meetings
of the club.
Gifts will be brought to the
next meeting to pack and be sent
to Fairview Home in Salem.
Monday evening, December 21
was the date set for the annual
Christmas party to be held at the
home of Miss Leta Humphreys.
At this party members pack box
es of homemade candy and
cookies to be sent to the Vet
eran's hospital in Walla Walla
and also boxes of complete din
ners for elderly men in the area,
who do not have families.
A box of gifts is also sent to
the state hospital in Pendleton.
Mrs Charles Knox was a guest
at the meeting.
The Heppner chapter of the
Future Homemakers of America
held their annual mothers tea
and International program at the
Heppner school homema king
room on Sunday, December 6.

Memorial hospital, who talked
to the girls and their mothers
about Holland, his homeland. He
told about the history of the
country, dike building, Christmas
customs, education system and
his traveling to and from Hol
land. Gordon Pratt, principal of the
high school led the group In
singing of Christmas carols.
Sandra Harshman presented
each, Mr and Mrs Bongers and
Mr Pratt with a plant as a token
of appreciation for assisting with
the program.
The tea table and room was
attractively decorated by Ann
Jones, Jackie Brindle, Ginger
Springer and Shannon Mahoney.
Pouring at the tea table were
Roseann Ayers and Wilma Mar
latt. Rose Nash, Diane McCurdy,
Libby Van Schoiack, Sandra
Richards prepared the fruitcake
and other refreshments.
Girls who assisted with the
serving of the tea were Cheryle
Hartman, Bernlce Thomson, Gin
ger Springer, Martha Doherty,
Marlene Fetsch, Dorothy Vinson,
Christine Spencer and Linda
Valentine.

potluck dinner was served at
noon with 16 present

will deliver them.
Mrs Ken Keeling was surprised
with a farewell handkerchief
shower. She Is one of the charter
members of the club.
