Boardman Notes

Flossie Coats, postmaster, and
Florence Root attended the 4th
district meeting of the Oregon
branch of the National League
of Postmasters at the Masonic
hall in Arlington Saturday. Mrs
Coats as state 4th vice-president
is head of this district Speaker
was Don Acton, Field Service
Officer from the regional office
in Portland. Including guests,
there were 27 present at the
meeting.
Greenfield Grange will hold
Its annual booster night program
Saturday, Nov 14 at the grange
hall There will be a potluck
supper at 6:30 p m. The program
will be combined with the an
nual 4-H Achievement Party,
and included In the program will
be the presentation of the an
nual 4-H awards. The public is
invited to attend.
Mr and Mrs George King re
turned home Friday from a two
weeks trip visiting relatives In
Cozad, North Platte, Oshkosh
' and Lewellen, Nebr. On their
return they also visited at the

Willard Baker Is In Aberdeen,
Md for a two weeks training
course pertaining to his work at
the Umatilla Ordnance Depot
Little Tommy Carpenter of La
Grande visited his grandparents,
Mr and Mrs Russell Miller, from
Thursday till Sunday, while his
parents and brother, Mr and Mrs
Vern Carpenter and Russell, were
in Portland.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Allen were
weekend visitors at the home of
their son and daughter-in-law,
Mr and Mrs Clayton Allen, in
Sunnyslde, Wash. Mrs Laura
Allen returned home wth them
after visiting there for ten days.
Mrs Elvln Ely and Mrs Frank
Marlow went to Pasco, Wash
Sunday afternoon to visit at the
home of Mr and Mrs Charlie
Woolley.
Bill Garner of Hlnes and Leo
nam Bergseth of Burns were
over night visitors at the home of
Mr and Mrs Russell Miller last
week.
Those who went to Hermlston
last Friday night to hear Dr
Walter M Montao speak at the
West Park Baptist church in

Harold Hartle of Pendleton vis
ited at the home of his brother-in-law

Frank Marlow, Sunday evening.
He brought his father, W W Har
tle, home after visiting for the
past five weeks at the homes of
his daughters, Mrs Lafe Smith,
in Weiser, Ida., and Mrs Clar
ence Thomas, in Rigglns, Idaho.
The Ladies Aid Society of
Community church met Wednes

at a luncheon meeting In Her-
potluck supper at 6:30. There

Mrs Walter Hayes, accompan
ied by her sister-in-law, Mrs

Portland last Thursday.
Darrell Marlow took his par
ents, Mr and Mrs Frank Marlow
to Portland Friday, where Frank
Marlow received a medical
checkup.
Ronald Black, FFA instructor
at Riverside high school, went
to Salem last Friday where he
attended a state OEA member
ship placement committee meet
ing Saturday. Black Is vice-president
of Morrow County OEA.
Verla Mathewson received
word Saturday of the death of
her father, Eugene Tillltt, 89,
in Stockton, California.
Roy Rordell went to Sunnyslde,
Wash Monday to spend ten days
at the home of Mr and Mrs
Clayton Allen. He recently re
turned home from a four months
visit with relatives in Salt Lake
City, Utah.
Mr and Mrs George Ramsay
of The Dalles were Sunday vis
itors at the home of Mr and Mrs
Leo Potts.
Mrs Earl Briggs returned home
Monday from a three weeks trip
to Harlem, Mont, visiting her
sister-in-law and daughter, Mr
and Mrs John Campbell, In Spo
kane, Washington.

Wash has been visiting for the
past five days at the home of
her brother and sister-in-law, Mr
