On Saturday of last week Russell Dolven, Billy Doherty and Kenneth Smouse selected calves from the John Graves herd while Tom and Jimmy Mar- Jtin chose Hereford steers from the opportunity to serve on the Pete Pattee Memorial college scholarship, committee at Con don. This committee composed of Marion Weatherford, Mrs tho'iuary rauee, luarvin maxweu rr t.ii.. I c II and myself interviewed and re viewed records of 39 4-H mem bers eligible for the scholarship. It was gratifying to see and hear how 4-H had developed these boys and girls and their praise of what 4-H had done for them. Their plans for college and the future varied tremendously but all had a well planned purpose in life. CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH Alfalfa Street Worship services 11:00 am. Toxaphene will be used to treat the reservoir and game commission person nel will disperse the chemical. In certain concentrations, Tox aphene may be harmful to hu mans and animals. The amount of Toxaphene to be used to re move fish from McKay Reservoir will be well below the critical level for mammals after it Is mixed in the water of the im poundment. Fish may be dying , for as long as thirty days after treatment and because of the nature of Toxaphene people are warned not to salvage fish for human or animal food supplies. No large concentration of dying fish, as seen when rotenone is used, Is expected at McKay Res ervoir.
