lone School Holds Christinas Program
The lone schools presented the
following program in the cafe
torium Thursday evening, Dec
18: brass ensemble played
Christmas carols; a play, Christ
mas In Mother Goose Land by
the 1st and 2nd grades; the be
ginners band played Red River
Valley, Alpha Waltz and Little
Brown Jug; play, Santa's Elves
by 3rd grade; the intermediate
band played Rifle Regiment
March, Sunset Valley and Here
Comes the Parade; play The
Christmas Dollar by 4th grade;
high school band played Christ
mas Fantasy and Here Comes
Santa Claus; play Twas the
Night Before Christmas by 5th,
6th, 7th, and 8th grades; the
high school chorus sang Carols
of Bells and Sing Gloria. Arnie
Hedman led the band and sing
ing and Karen Lundell was the
pianist.
Santa Claus and his helpers
gave treats to all. The treats were
sponsored by the P-TA. The room
was decorated with a large
Christmas tree and other orna
ments. A pink and blue shower was
given in honor of Mrs Joseph
Kalister of St Louis at the lone
Community church parlor Mon
day afternoon, Dec 15. Her mo
thAr Mrs Noel Dobyns poured
and her grandmother Mrs Grace

stalled in the Masonic lodge
Wednesday evening, Dec 17: Roy
Lindstrom, Worshipful master;
Adon Hamlett, senior warden;
Melvin Melena, junior warden;
Paul Pettyjohn, treasurer;
Charles O'Connor, secretary; Joe
Hausler, senior deacon; James
Barnett, junior deacon; Robert
DeSpain, senior steward; Omar
Rietmann, junior steward; and
Lewis Halvorsen, chaplain. Those
to be installed later are Walter
Roberts, tyler and Walter Dobyns,
marshal. The installing officer
was Walter Dobyns; Installing
marshal, Gene Rietmann; and
installing chaplain, Kenneth
Smouse. Mrs Cleo Drake was the
musician. Leo Crabtree was the
outgoing worshipful master.
A potluck dinner preceaea xne
meeting and was well attended.
The American Legion and Aux
iliary, and their families and
friends attended the Christmas
nnrtv at the Leaion hall Tuesday
evening, Dec 16. A potluck supper
was served after wmcn games
were played. The hall, was dec
orated in the Christmas motif.

nrpr. Mrs Lindsav is the out
going chairman. At the business
meeting it was aeciaea to give
$5 to CARE and $5 to the nurs
ing home in the Pioneer Mem
orial hosD tal. Willows grange
purchased a refrigerator for their
hail. The HEC served lunch at
the Delbert Emert cattle sale re
cently and cleared $91.48. Alter
the meetings gifts were exchang
ed and refreshments were ser
ved by Mrs Ring and Mrs Lun
dell. The January meeting will
be held at the home of Mrs Ma
bel Cotter with a potluck dinner
at noon.
Mrs Kathryn Yarnell reported
that her son and daughter-in-law,
Mr and Mrs Clifford Yarnell
of Madras returned home last
week from a week's trip to
Nassau in the Bahama Islands.
They were sent on the vacation
by the Case Implement Company.
The trip was made by piane.

The meeting of the Eluta
Campfire Girls was held on Dec
ember 15. We went caroling at
the hospital and later went back
to our leader's house for our
Christmas party. We all exchang
ed gifts and we were all very
pleased. Refreshments were ser
