He said the declaration was a statement of objective and not a treaty, and the main objective of upholding human rights is Peace. He further stated that the root of all international trouble stems from human rights. Mrs Conley Lanham was in troduced and welcomed as a new member of the club. Another party, that of the Fu ture Business Leaders ot Ameri ca was held at the high school on Friday, December 12. Mem bers of the chapter met and worked on several current pro jects. The Christmas candy for Santa Claus's downtown visit to the kiddies was sacked. Also, work on the Christmas concert programs for the grade school and high school both was com pleted. After the work period re freshments were served. Every one participated in caroling around town after the party. The HEHISCH staff recently sent back paper copies to the Columbia Scholastic Press and National Scholastic Press. These two organizations judge the pa pers entered and then send the criticisms back to the paper. This way the paper can correct it's mistakes and Improve on it's fu ture issues. On Tuesday, December 16, the Mustangs went and played, but did not conquor. The final score of the Heppner-Ione game, after a three minute overtime, was 50-54. The volleyball squad didn't fare so well, either, as they lost their game with lone In the afternoon. On their Wednesday morning program "The Heppner Party Line" radio KUBE in Pendleton presented the Heppner high school chorus singing parts of their Christmas concert. Tues day, representatives from KUBE came and recorded the songs for the program. On Wednesday night the chorus presented for the townspeople their program "Chimes of the Holy Night" and the HHS band also played several Christmas selections.
