Be On Sale At Bazaar
St Monica's guild of All Saints'
Episcopal church met Tuesday
evening at the home of Mrs La
Verne Van Marter.
Mrs Floyd Jones gave a report
on the doll the guild is dressing
and further plans were discussed
for the annual bazaar, sponsored
by the auxiliary, which is to be
Saturday, Dec 6 at the par
ish house. There will be a booth
at the bazaar where the histor
ical plates of Morrow county
court house may be purchased
and Mrs James J Farley was
appointed to look into the pur
chase of religious calendars.
The cookbook project with Mrs
Frank Anderson as chairman,
was discussed and it is hoped
to have them ready for sale by
bazaar time next year.
At the close of the meeting,
refreshments were served by the
hostesses to the 15 members present.

At Schaffitz Home
The Whats Trumps bridge club
met for a salad luncheon last
Wednesday afternoon at the
home of Mrs E K Schaffitz.

for the coming year was made
under the new business.
Following the meeting sand
wiches, cake, coffee and tea were
served in the dining room by
chairman, Mrs Cornett Green, as
sisted by Mrs Oliver Creswick,
Mrs R G McMurtry, Mrs Frank
Ayers and Mrs Blanche Brown.
The hall and dining room were
beautifully decorated in the pres
ident's motives and song by Mrs
Gerald Rood, Mrs Clarence Bau
man, Mrs Frank Ayers. Mrs Don
Munkers and Mrs Verne Edwards.
Altar Society Plans
Annual Smorgasbord
The October meeting of St Pat
rick's Altar Society was held on
Tuesday, October 14, at the home
of Mrs Philip Blakney.
A report by Mrs William Glen
nie on the questionnaire sent to
members concluded that the
Altar Society will continue to
meet in the evening in the homes
of members and will be limited
to a business meeting and re
freshments. The coffee . hour planned for
Sunday, October 19 at the church
has been postponed.
The annual smorgasbord din
ner, of the Altar Society, will
be held at the Heppner fair pa
vilion. November 9 from 3 to
7 pm. New ideas and menus
were discussed with possibility
of a transportation committee for
people needing rides to the din
ner being added.
Officers in charge are Mes
dames Paul Koenig, Philip Blak
ney, William Glennie, and Wil
liam Kenny. Mrs Les Wyman and
Mrs Jack Healy have charge of
decorations and Mrs Wallace
Wolff the publicity, advertising
and tickets.
Following the meeting dessert
was served by the hostess and
her assistants, Mrs Koenig and
Mrs Ray Smith.

Prisoner Party
The lone Sorority met at the
home of Mrs Eldon Padberg in
Lexington Wednesday evening,
October 15.
A prisoner Dartv was held with
members dressed as convicts. All
were deloused, finger printed and
mug shots taken with a polaroid
camera, by Mrs Bob Lovgren.
' Hollywood bridge was Dlaved
during the evening.

last Wednesday evening for the
Kings Little Queens bridge club.

homecoming festivities Friday,
October 10, with her princesses
Carol K Anderson and Celia Boul
den. The court was presented at half
time activities at the Heppner
Maupin football game and Queen
Susie was crowned at the dance
which followed the game.
Opening the homecoming fes
tivities was a rally in downtown
Heppner, before the game. After
the game the dance attracted
many students and alumni.
Linda Hams Hostess
For Dancing Party
Linda Hams entertained Friday
evening with a party at the
home of her parents, Mr and
Mrs LaVerne Hams In lone.
After the basket social at the
lone school, about 75 students
from lone, Lexington and Hepp
ner went to the Hams home
where they danced In the play
room and garage.
Charlene Jones of Lexington
was honored on her birthday and
refreshments were served later
in the evening.

Morrison, Mrs Lloyd Howton, Mrs
Clell Rea, Mrs John Eubanks, Mrs
Wally Gaarsland and Mrs Hams.

ner met last Thursday evening
at the home of Miss Leta Hum
phreys. Miss Humphreys showed pict
ures of Mexico taken on her trip
there in July. She also told some
thing about the country and its
history.
