Tuesday morning that his father Mr and Mrs Bob Gienger took
Orval Scott of Vale had passed Mrs Ivan Gienger and daughter

Mrs Earl Harig and Mrs Otis

Gienger home.
Miss Linda Cross was here
from Salem to visit her mother,
Mrs Gene Vaughan.
Jack Sweek and children drove
to Pendleton Sunday to get
his wife who has been In the
hospital there.
Pearl Martin of the Forestry
office reports five fires this past
week. All were caused by light
ning and all were small except
the one on Potamus creek which
covered 140 acres.
Mr and Mrs Stanley Boyer
drove to Portland Sunday where
they will attend the wedding of
Lydla Capon to Robert Gertson
Tuesday, Aug 5. Mr Gertson Is
a Portland man and Is the 7th
and 8th grade teacher here. Mrs
Capon is the widow of the late
Harry Capon of Kiraberly and Is
also a high school teacher here.
Aubrey Crum possibly will not
return to work for the forestry
office the rest of the season after
getting hurt 10 days ago at a
fire. He received two broken ribs
but expects to get out of the
hospital by the middle of the
month.
Carolyn Martin went to Sa
lem over the weekend on busi
ness and will go back this week
end for the wedding of a girl
friend Carolyn Alsman which
will be held August 9 at the
Church of God. Miss Martin will
be a candlelighter.
Mrs Cora Densmore and Judith
Grant of Kitchiner, Ontario, Can
ada are visiting with Mrs Louise
Scott, the former's sister. Judith
Grant is a niece. She is spending
some time with her cousins, the
George Stubblefield girls. They
will spend a month here and ex
pect to return home August 23.
Mr and Mrs Ansil Martin and
Mrs Jim Croker and Ronny drove
to Salem Friday for the week
end. Mrs Croker stayed in Salem
as her mother is very ill in a
Salem hospital.
Mr and Mrs Gus Peterson and
Mrs Cora Densmore drove to John
Day Thursday on business.
A jeep load of Joyriders com
ing from Ant Hill Sunday after
noon had some trouble and some
were rushed to the hospital In
John Day. There were 10 in the
crowd but no one was hurt ser
iously. Mr and Mrs Forrest Noland
drove to John Day Saturday on
business, and to purchase a new
car.

in Palo Alto. The other Hausler
children stayed with relatives in
Medford.
Mr and Mrs Rodney Crawford
of Helix are the parents of a
daughter, Charlotte Louise, born
July 18 in Pendleton. Mr and
Mrs Vernice Crawford of ' Helix
and Mr and Mrs Thomas Chap
man of Pilot Rock are the grand
parents. Mr and Mrs Wate Craw
ford of lone are the great grand
parents. Mrs Patricia Crisman, daugh
ter of Mrs Robert Boad of Shel
ton, Wash, and Elmer Ellis of
Arlington, became the bride of
James Morgan, son of Mrs S L
Wiles and Edison Morgan, Sat
urday at noon, August 2 at the
Baptist church in Shelton at a
double ring ceremony. Mr and
Mrs Robert Boad were their at
tendants. The couple will make
their home In lone where he Is
employed by the Union Pacific
railroad.
Mr and Mrs E W Bristow en
tertained at a dinner Monday ev
ening in honor of her brother,
Gene Grabill's birthday. Others
present were Mrs Everett Keith
ley and daughter, Patricia, of
Heppner: Mrs Ida Grabill, Mr
and Mrs Ernest McCabe and fam
ily and Donald Bristow.
Jerry Healy of Heppner is
spending a few dyas with his
uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs
Ted Palmateer. Jimmy Leathers
was also a visitor at the Palma

return to Meridian where she is
employed by the Boise Water
Corp and he is attending Bar

to her home from St Anthony's,
hospital in Pendleton where she
underwent major surgery last
week.
Mr and Mrs Henry Cavin and
daughter, Janette have returned
to their home in Portland after
visiting at the C C Jones home.

were Fossil visitors over the
weekend with their daughter,
Mr and Mrs Al Frost.
