Fire destroyed 1200 bales of
hay at the Leo Crabtree home
Tuesday of last week, The men
had been burning grass and
thought they had the fire out
but it sprung up again and burn
ed some pasture as well as the
hay and also came close to a
barn. The fire truck was called
from lone and Clarence helped
with his road grader.
Lawrence Jones and son, Ken
neth spent last week in Medford
where he entered the PITA
trap shoot. Kenneth won the jun
ior State championship and Mr
Jones received 3rd place.
Mr and Mrs Dale Ray left
Thursday of last week for Hood
River where they will visit rel
atives. They also plan to visit
in Washington.
Dennis Swanson, son of Mr
and Mrs Garland Swanson and
a student at Portland University,
left June 13 for McChord Air
Force base in Washington where
he will attend the AFROTC sum
mer training camp for 4 weeks.
The Swansons other son, John,
left Tuesday of last week by
plane from Pendleton for Los
Angeles where he will visit his
uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs
Phillip Miller. He got quite a
thrill when he found that Rickey
Nelson of Hollywood was on the
same plane from Pendleton to
Portland.
