IN THE SADDLE . . .
I With The Wranglers
i
j By JOHN NEWMAN
. Did you get in on the auction
Saturday, or the potluck after-
wards? What did you think of
Bruce. . . he opened with less
lembarrasment that he displays
when missing a calf. Frank Tur
lner came back with a very good
'run down on the origin and his
Uory of. the club. He made it very
I interesting and informative. I
'learned from his talk that he is
the oldest member in the club
'and that he has gone into semi
'retirement he no longer rides
horses, has quit wine and sing
ing and hopes to remain a
7 p.m. .Wrangler as long as he can drive
Thursday, at a car anfI ro,ain interest in wo
men and good horses. He implied
that when he had lost lvs eye
for the latter two he would re
tire, men!
Pill Collins brought back
mnnv harnv memories of the
past wi'h pictures he had taken
since the club was born 11 years

a:o. To these, and to Arenie,
Herman, Roice and Johnnie,
their wives and everyone who
contributed in any way to the
success of the sale and the en
joyment of the evening, I wish
to" say thanks, not only in be
half of the club, but from the
depth of y hpart as well you
all did a croat job.
The sale brought $427.50 and
$25 donations to date made $452.
50 which should get us off the
hook. If we are careful we should
get to operating with an eye
toward a club house in the fut
ure.' Ralph says if this rain keeps
; - have his , d
. Lefs ot
lit ready, it should be lots nicer
I there than in a muddy corral or
having it called off.
Let's plan t0 hit it Saturday
morning and make a day of it.
; Two or three men on the an-
nouncer's stand could side and
cover it, two or tnree on uie
fence, that many on the corral
and gates, three or four on the
rest rooms and one electrician
icouia ao a n. we
cut nut for us, but it can be done.
Let's try just to get the feel of
playing on our grounds. I'll be
there, will you? Till then your
janitor.

teered to serve coffe and free
to the workmen.
