Beverly Baker and
Robert Steagall Wed
'Saturday Morning
Miss Beverly Baker, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Baker of
Lexington, and Robert Steagall,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stea
gall of Lexington, were married
Saturday morning at St. Pat
rick's Catholic church In Hep
pner. The Rev. P. J. Gaire per
formed the double ring ceremony.
The bride wore a tuorquoise
suit with white accessories and
her maid of honor, Miss Pat Stea
gall, sister of the groom, was
dressed In green with white ac
cessories.
Bill Steagall was best man for
his brother.
Those attending the wedding
were Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Baker,
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Steagall,
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Padberg,
Dale Baker, Pat, Barbara Jim and
Bill Steagall Mrs. Emma Brash
ears all of Lexington; Miss De
anna Steagall of Portland; Mr.
and Mrs. Howard Crowell lone
and Paul Koenig and sons of
Heppner.
The bride and groom are both
graduates of Lexington high
school.
They will make their home in
Heppner where the groom is em
ployed by Heppner Pine Mills
and the bride is receptionist at
Pioneer Memorial hospital.

The Suzannah Wesley circle of
the Methodist church met Wed
nesday, December 18 at the home
of Mrs. N. D. Bailey. A Christ
mas program was given by Mrs.
Alfred Troedson.

At Bedford Home
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bedford and
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamlin en
tertained Saturday evening with
an open house from 7:30 to 10:30
at the Bedford home.
The rooms were lovely with

the evening.

The Lexington P. T. A. met last
Tuesday evening at the school
Barbara Cutsforth presiding. The
program consisted of our discus
sions of religion in the home
with the singing of the carols by
the mixed quartet. Refreshments
were served in the cafeteria later
in the evening.
Bob Mathews, teacher in the
high school, has returned after
several weks absence due to an
accident. Mr. Cox, Hermiston has
been substituting.

Wednesday night was the reg
ular meeting of Holly Rebekah
Lodge and the Christmas party.
At this time the Oddfellows also
held their regular meeting and
the two lodges met for the Christ
mas party in the Rebekah hall.
Games were played and an ex
change of gifts was enjoyed and
a cash offering for the home in
Portland was taken at this time.
Mrs Gertrude O'Harra was taken
in at this meeting by transfer,
and other guests for the evening
were, Mr. O'Harra, Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Nicholls and Armin Wihlon.
Lovely refreshments were served
by Mrs. Earl Warner, Mrs. Oris
Padberg and Mrs W. E. McMillan.
The school program for all
grades was enjoyed at the audi
torium on Thursday night. A
good crowd was in attendance
after which Santa Claus appeared
for the youngsters. -
The high school exchange party
was held on Friday afternoon in
the science room at the school
served by a committee of high
school mothers, also the grades
all enjoyed a Christmas party at
this time where games were
played, gifts exchanged and re
freshments served.
On Friday night the high school
mothers entertained the high
school with a dinner in the
I.O.O.F. hall followed by a dance
in the lower hall for the high
school students and their guests.
The committee for the dinner
was Mrs. Alonzo Henderson, Mrs.
Wilbur Steagall, Mrs. Bill Par
sons, and decorating, Mrs. Gar
Leyva, Mrs. Roy Martin, Mrs.
Bob Davidson and Mrs. C. C.
Jones, who also were in charge of
