The attention of all Morrow

Gazette Times. A hearing will be
held in the county court room
on Dec. 10 beginning at 10 a.m.
for the purpose of determining
Morrow county's status under the
present fence law. Livestock men
should be much concerned with
the hearing and should plan now
to set aside that date to attend
the hearing.
As a result of discussions on
the newly proposed farm program
at the annual fall meeting of the
Morrow County Wheatgrowers as
sociation, arrangements have
been made for a full discussion

the Wheatgrowers League which
will be held in Pendleton next
week. The proposed program will
be fully explained In general as

nounced that registration of live

being taken at this office. As yet,
we have not received any reg

Our good fellowship between
town and country people was
shown at the second annual
Farm City banquet held Monday
evening of this week. It was at
tended by approximately 125 per
sons; everyone present seemed to
enjoy the program of the even
ing and the opportunity to discuss
mutual problems. These are the
objectives of the observance of
Farm-City week. We are sure that
these objectives were met at our
annual banquet.
Morrow county livestock men
will be interested in following
through on the results of a dem
onstration which was set up re
cently at the Bernard Doherty
ranch in the Blackhorse commun
ity. In this demonstration one
half of the cows of Bernard's herd
were treated with systemic in
secticides Trolene and Co-Ral for
cattle grub control. One half of
the herd was left untreated as a
check. The herd will be inspected
for grub control comparing those
that were treated with the un
treated. The treatment is claimed
to be highly effective in control
ing grubs in the system before
they migrate to the backs of cattle
where holes are punched for em
ergence of the grub which con
sequently causes damage to the
hide as well as to the meat and
the ability of the animal to make
the best gains In beef and to hold
up milk production. Treatment
was made orally using a specified
number of boluses depending on
the weight of the animal. Main
advantage of this systemic treat
ment over the old method of
spraying with rotonone is a one
shot treatment compared to sev
eral sprayings at critical periods.

j Would the lady who borrowed
a pressure cooker from this office
last June help us to check our in
ventory by returning it soon? The
cooker, one of three on loan from
the office, has not been returned
and loan record has been mis
placed. By returning the cooker,
we will have an extra one to loan
next year as well as saving the
agent the cost of paying for it

Grace Curry, Miss Autorama of 1956, checks her "Doodlebug"
which she races Sundays down the drag strip at Woodbine, N. J.
Capable of hitting 120 miles per hour, the car is a custom-made
model, built by Grace herself. 'Here she checks over the wheel
lugs for proper tightness with an Ingersoll-Rand .Torque Control
Impactool. First and only electric torque control wrench in the
world with optional Torsion Bar Torque Control, the tool auto
matically spins down nuts to a preset torque and then shuts
itself off. If the nut is tight enough, the tool will not operate.
A hybrid of many parts, the "Doodlebug" has a Mercury '48
engine, Offenhauser heads and a 2-pot manifold. It is built on a
'40 Ford frame, and runs on '35 Ford wheels. The hand-formed
aluminum body has Pontiac taillights set in reversed StudbsJcer
truck fender.
While by the time most people
have read this column they will
have finished their Thanksgiving
dinner they may be interested to
know that the traditional turkey
is offering welcome relief from
the high cost of living. While
most costs continue to soar, the
price for your Thanksgiving tur
key was 18 to 20 cents a pound
less than was paid 10 years ago.
This year's big crop of turkeys
are bringing an average price of
42 cents a pound while 10 years!
ago oven ready birds were cost
ing 60 cents a pound. What's more
this lower price turkey is coming
at a time when average wages in
the country are at an all time
high. This brings out some inter
esting facts. For example, in 1947
the average factory worker in the
U.S. had to work 29 minutes to
earn the price of one pound of
turkey. This year he can buy a
pound of tuTkey with only 12
