Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Lilly and
children Jimmy, Janet and Jay,
La Grande, were weekend visi
tors at the home of Mrs. Lilly's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ely.
Sunday they all went to Rich
land, Wash, to visit at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Vaught.
The Ladies Aid society met on
Wednesday of last week at the
home of Mrs. Earl Briggs for a
potluck picnic on the lawn. Plans
were discussed for serving 'meals
at the North Morrow county fair
to be held here Sept. 6-8, and for
a float and booth for the fair.
Miss Jean Scott read letters from
foreign missionaries.
Mrs. Blanch Barlow, Heppner,
visited at the home of her brother-in-law
and sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Claud Coats, from Wednes
day till Saturday. Weekend visi
tors at the Coats' home were
Mrs. Coats' brother and sister-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barlow and
daughter Susan, Eugene.
Mrs. Arnin Hug went to Butte,
Mont., last week to visit her son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Sid Ferguson, and her new
granddaughter, Tracy Diane.
Hug and daughter Wanda left
Sunday to go to Butte also.
Mrs. Ed Skoubo returned home
from the Good Shepherd hospi
tal in Hermiston last Thursday
after being there a week follow
ing surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Seth Russell are
spending a few days at their
home here from Greenhorn,
where they are for the summer.
They were to return there Wed
nesday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderegg
and two sons, Vernonla, were
weekend visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderegg.
Mr. and Mrs. George Mefford,
Burns; Alvie Mefford of Yakima,
Wash., and Mrs. Max Deweese,
Grandview, Wash., were Week
end visitors at the home of Mrs.
Flnrpnee Root. Sunday visitors
were Mr. and Mrs. Al Macomber,
Arlington.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Gillespie and
daughter Billie and Mrs. Vern
Wilkie and daughter Barbara,
Moses Lake, Wash., visited at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Zearl Gil
lespie Saturday and Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith, of
Union, visited at the home of
their son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Thorpe,
Monday and Tuesday.
Mrs. C. L. Malan and nephew
Clarence Lyons, San Francisco,
Calif., visited last week at the
home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Emery Lyons, and her brother-in-law
and sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Taylor.
Mrs. Lowell Shattuck and sons
Martin and Douglas went to
Goldendale, Wash., over the
weekend to visit her mother,
Mrs. Lester Knight.
