lone Auxiliary Installs Officers

The following officers were in
stalled at a meeting of the Amerl.
can Legion auxiliary Tuesday
afternoon June 5 with Mrs. Eldon
Fadberg as installing officer and
mn. waiter coney as sergeant-at-arms:
Mrs. Victor Rietmann,
president; Mrs. Eldon Tucker, 1st
vice president; Mrs. G. Hermann
na vice president; Mrs. Cecil
Thorne, secretary-treasurer; Mrs.
r.uun iNicnoson, chaplain; Mrs
tcno Palmateer, historian and
Mrs. Robert Jepsen, sereeant-at
arms. The Unit gave $2 to the
Mental Health Association. Miss
Anna Jepsen was awarded a $150
nurses scholarship from the
Auxiliary department. Mrs. John
tuDanks, outgoing president was
presented with a past presidents'
pin by Mrs. Padberg and Mrs.
Delmar Crawford, a past presi
dent, was presented with a pin
by Mrs. Victor Rietmann.
Mrs. Rietmann named the fol
lowing committees to assist her
for the coming year: Mrs. Delmer
crawiord and Mrs. Elmer Holtz,
color bearers; Mrs. G. Hermann
and Mrs. Harold Dobyns, child
welfare; Mrs. Earl McCabe, junior
activities; Mrs. C. E. Brenner,
Girl's State; Mrs. Eldon Tucker,
membership; Mrs. Cle0 Drake,
music and Pan-American; Mrs.
Pete Cannon, national security;
Mrs. Edith Niehoson, American
ism; airs, waiter Lorley, com
munity service; Mrs. Robert De
Spain, poppy and poppy poster;
Mrs. Echo Palmateer, publicity;
Mrs. John Eubanks, rehabilita
tion; Mrs. Corliss McLeod, con
stitution and by-laws; Mrs. Gor
don White, public relations.
Pinochle was played after the
meeting. Those receiving prizes
were: Mrs. Cleo Drake, high and
Mrs. Eubanks. 2nd hieh
Drake also recPived the door
prize. Refreshments were served
by the losing side of a contest
that had been held during the
year. Mrs. McLeod and "Mrs.
Rietmann were the hostesses.

Mrs. William Rawlins was
elected president of the ToDic
club at a meeting at the home
of Mrs. Mabel Cotter. Fridav
afternoon June 8. Other officers
elected were Mrs. Norman Nel
son, vice president; and Mrs. John
Proudfoot. secretary and treas
urer. The club decided to hold
a picnic at Hat Rock Sunday June
17 with a potluck dinner at 12:30
p. m. The picnic was formerly
scneduied to be held at Sacajawea
park but due to high water was
changed to Hat Rock. A contest
will be worked out to encouraee
children to read more books from
the public librarv this summer
The library board will meet on
luesoay june 12 at the nbrary
with Mrs. Roy Lindstrom and
Mrs. Nerman Nelson to decide on
this project.
After the business meetine
slides were shown by Mrs. Nelson
on ner trip to the Hawaiian Is
lands in April. She also gave a
very interesting talk on her trip
Refreshments were served by
Mrs. Cotter and Mrs. Echo Pal
mateer. A book shower was given
to tne public library.
