Married in Tillamook
A wedding of interest to people
of this area was that of Miss Pa
tricia Ann Peregoy, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Pere
goy of Tillamook, to Philip C.
Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Smith of Heppner.
The ceremony was performed
Sunday, December 18 at 2:00 p.
m. at the Tillamook Methodist
church, with Rev. John J. Han
cock, of St. Alan's Episcopal
church of Tillamook officiating.
The bride, lovely In a gown of
white Chantilly lace and tulle
over taffeta, emproidered with
seed pearls on a lace bodice, was
given in marriage by her father.
Her short illusion veil was held
In place by a cap of matching
lace with seed pearls and rhine
stones. Her bouquet was double
white bouvordia and white roses
with two white orchids on a
white Bible.
The maid of honor, Miss
Janet G. Smetts of Concord, Cali
fornia, sorority sister of the
bride, was dressed in red crystal
lette ballroom length gown with
satin pumps to match and match
ing headband with white chrysanthemums.
The bridesmaids, Miss Nancy
Hall, and Mrs. Brian Price, both
of Portland and Miss Paula Hel
weg of Roseburg were dressed
the same as the maid of honor.
Candle lighters were Stanley
Peregoy, brother of the bride and
Melvin Boquist. Flower girl was
Martha Specht and ringbearer
was Douglas Hansen, cousin of
the bride.
Mickey Lanham of Eugene was
best man and usherrs were Ro
bert Murphy, Hood River; Char
les Jensen, Ketchikan, Alaska;!
Charles Stout, Jr., Heppner, all!
fraternity brothers of the groom.1
A reception was held, following !
the cemebony, at the home of the
bride's parents.
Mrs. Earl Blake of Heppner,
Mrs. Roy Hall, Mrs. Fred Guyton
and Mrs. Richard Clement were
at the punch bowl. Pouring were
Mrs. Al Boquist, Mrs. George Les
lie and Mrs. Adolph Erickson, Mrs.
Violet Hall cut the cake and
Mark Clement had charge of the
the room were Mrs. Wesley Hart-
guest book. Assisting around
man, Mrs. William L. Hansen and
Mrs. Jack Clement.
The couple will make their
home in Portland.
Those from Heppner attending
the wedding were Mr. and Mrs
Harlan McCurdy, Sr., Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Blake and Donald
Blake, who attends the Univer
sity of Washington and Mr. and
Mrs. Ted Smith.

A Christmas program was en
joyed at the Soroptimist lunch
eon on Thursday at O'Donnell's
Miss Leta Humphreys was pro
gram chairman for the day and
played two recordings, one en
titled The Small One and the
other, The Littlest Angel.
Christmas carols were sung by
the group, accompanied by Mrs.
C. C. Carmichael.
Miss Nancy Adams was
guest.

A Christmas day ceremony at
the Heppner Methodist church,
united in marriage Miss Rene
Griffith, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. J. Griffith and Leonard
Toll, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gib Toll
of Redmond. The Reverend Les
ter Boulden officiated.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father wore a formal gown
of white net over satin. Her short
veil was held in place by a ban
deau of pearls. Her bridal bou
quet of red roses and stephanotis
was carried on a white Bible.
Mrs. Don Griffith of Fossil, ma
tron of honor, wore a yellow after
noon dress and carried a nosegay
of white carnations. Don Griffith,
brother of the bride was best man
and ushers were Mac Griffith,
brother of the bride and Chuck
Toll, brother of the groom.
Sue Griffith, sister of the
bride was the flower girl and
Raymond Goebel, of Wallowa,
nephew of the bride was the ring
bearer.
Miss Delpha Frazier of Red
mond, aunt of the groom, sang
"With This Ring, I Thee Wed",
and "Wedding. Prayer". Mrs.
Boulden played the wedding
music.
Flowers and decorations about
the church were in the Christmas
tradition.
At the reception which fol
lowed in the church basement
Mrs. Bethel Coxen of Portland cut
the cake and Mrs. Irvin Padberg
poured the coffee. Mrs. Kenneth
Blake was at the punch bowl.
The bride is a graduate of the
Heppner high school and attend
ed beauticians school, and the
groom is a graduate of Redmond
high school.
After a short wedding trip, the '
couple will live at Fossil where I
he is employed by the Bly Lum- j
ber company.

Rainbow Reception
Held Tuesday Night
Miss Jean Marie Graham, grand
service of the grand assembly of
Rainbow for Girls, was honored
Tuesday evening with a recep
tion at the I. O. 0. F. hall.
Two songs were sung in her
honor, one by a large group of
the girls and the other by a trio
composed of Donna Hudson, Sha
ron Becket and Janice Martin.
Janice Martin also played a piano
solo.
The guest of honor was pre
sented a gift from the group and
an addenda was given in honor
of the Mother Advisor, Mrs. Mary
Van Stevens and she was pre
sented with a gift.
Miss Ann Palmer, grand treas
urer of Condon was introduced
as were several other honored
guests. There were a number of
guests present from Condon.
At the tea table Mrs. Claude
Graham and Mrs. Harold Becket
poured and Miss Leona Graham
and Mrs. Mary Van Stevens were
at the punch bowl.
Following the reception the
Rainbow Girls held their annual
winter formal dance, with Gene
Rietmann's orchestra furnishing
the music. Refreshments were
served after the dance.

CHRISTMAS PARTY was enjoyed before the holidays by employees
of the Morrow county Groin Growers and their wives. The din
ner was held at O'Donnell's Wagon Wheel Lounge for 16 persons
and Al Lamb, Grain Growers manager, and his wife, were hosts
for the affair.

Among social activities during
the Christmas weekend was the
open house at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Oscar George on Sun
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Parker held
open house at their home Mon
day and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dow
en and Mr. and Mrs. Bradley
Fancher were co-hosts at a holi
day party at the Fancher home
on Monday evening.

On Christmas Eve Mr. and Mrs.
Lincoln Nash announced the en
gagement of their daughter,
Mary Ann Jensen to Mr. Lee Pal
mer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion
Palmer of lone.
No wedding date has been set.
