Alfred Shirley; tableau, Christ mas Night, with the following! program. Recitations by John Botts, Jack Crum, John Jackson, Lois Messenger and j Monty and Bobby Crum; songs by John Botts, John Jackson ana Jack Crum; piano solo by Bonnie Crum; instrumental solo by Neil McKay; trio vocals by Mr. and Mrs. Art Brownlow of Heppner and Niel McKay. Niel also gave the scriDture reading and the congregation sang songs. Treats followed the program. The Willows grange gave a pro gram at their hall Sunday after noon. On the program were: songs by Lona White and Dalene McDonnell, piano solo by Linda Halvorsen, a dance number by Sandra Eubanks and songs by all. Refreshments and home made candy were served. The lone Garden club met at the home of Mrs. Fredrick Martin Tuesday Dec. 13 with Mrs. Sam Esteb and Mrs. Phil Newitt as co hostesses. Mrs. Etta Huston told of the wild flowers that grew In Jerusalem. The roll call was answered by naming a flower, shrub, tree or bird that is men tioned in the Bible. It was de cided to hold a 12th night cere mony Jan. 6 In the Rietmann vacant lot on main street. Old Christmas trees and greenery will be burned at this time. They can either be taken to the lot or left so they may be gathered up. Mrs. Omar Rietmann is the chairman of the ceremony. The members of the club brought gifts for the Morrow County hospital patients. Prizes were given for the best wrapped packages. Those winning were Mrs. Omar Rietmann, first; Mrs. Dale Ray, second; and Mrs. Etta Huston, third. Year book covers were also judged and Mrs. Mon etta Aldrich received the first prize. The rooms were decorated with Christmas arrangements and a Christmas tree. Mrs. Ernest Heliker had charge of the program. Members of the Garden club decorated a tree in the city park with lights At a Maranatha club meeting Wednesday Dec. 14 at the E. M Baker home the club decided to purchase 50 chairs for the Com munity church. A donation went to the Children's' Farm Home near Corvallis. A luncheon pre ceded the meeting. Mrs. Alfred Shirley assisted Mrs. Baker. The group sang Christmas carols. Mr. and Mrs. Berl Akers gave a turkey dinner at their home Wednesday Dec. 14 for the sophomore class. They were as sisted by Gary Stevenson. Tiiey enjoyed TV, were shown movies of the class taken while they were in the third and fourth grades, and also played games. Those in the class present were Mardine Baker, Anne Belle Cole man, Louise Botts, Grace McCabe, Kay Sherer, Niel McKay and Berl Akers. Mrs. Delmer Crawford enter tained at a bridge party Friday evening Dec. 16. Mrs. Ernest McCabe received high prize, Mrs. Ray Boyce, low and Mrs. Walter Jacobs, Jack high. Mrs. Verner Troedson is visit ing her mother, Mrs. Georgia Brewster in Portland. Mrs. Dora Pierrot of Portland is visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Franklin Ely. Mr. and Mrs. John Sanders of Portland are the parents of a son born Dec. 17. Mr. and Mrs. John P. The engagement of Miss Na dine Ruhling, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ruhling of Spo kane and Helmuth Hermann, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Hermann, was announced at a party in Portland last week. No date has been set for the wedding. Miss Ruhling is visiting at the Hermann home. Jerald Rea underwent an oper ation on his hip in Portland last week but is home now. His par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clell Rea went to Portland with him. Malcolm McKinney is still in a Portland hospital for treatment of a fractured arm. A birthday party was given after the regular meeting of the Bunchgrass Rebekah lodge Thurs dav evenine Dec. 15. Those having birthdays were Mrs. Wal lace Matthews, Mrs. Paul Petty john, Mrs. E. R.
