TURKEY DINNER AND INSTALLATION
HELD SATURDAY AT MASONIC TEMPLE
The annual Masonic and East
ern Star turkey dinner was held
at the Masonic Temple Saturday
evening, December 10 under the
direction of Ruth chapter. They
served approximately 160 mem
bers and guests.
The committee in charge of the
dining room was Mrs. Fred Par
rish, Mrs. George Rugg and Mrs.
C. J. D. Bauman assisted by Rain
bow Girls, Phyllis Quackenbush,
Susan McQuarrie, JoAnn Keith
ley, Judy Cochell, Carolyn Mc
Daniel, Kay Keithley and Mar
garet Hughes.
Following the dinner joint in
stallation of officers was held by
Ruth chapter No. 32, A. F. & A. M.
No, 69 and the Royal Arch Ma
sons. The retiring worthy matron of
Ruth chapter No. 32, Order of the
Eastern Star, Juanita Carmichael,
and retiring worthy patron, Paul
Jones, welcomed the members
and friends, after which the in
stalling officer, Anna Graham
jffld her assistants, Ruby Becket,
marshal; Delia Davidson, chap
lain and Inez Huffman, organist
were introduced.
The following elected and ap
pointed officers were installed:

business meeting Monday even
ing in the parish hall and elected
officers for the coming year as
follows: Mrs. Robert Ferrell, presi
dent; Mrs. James Valentine, vice
president; Mrs. Claude Graham,
treasurer and Mrs. Lowell Grib
ble, secretary.
Preceding the meeting at which
26 members were present, Mrs.
A. D. McMurdo and Mrs. J. J.
Nys conducted the devotions.
Mrs. Lucy Peterson was accom
panist for the singing of a hymn.

members of St. Anne's guild.
Rev. Geyer Speaks
On Youth Program
Miss Leta Humphreys was pro
gram chairman for the day at
the Soroptimist club luncheon at
O'Donnell's Thursday.
She introduced Rev. Willis
Geyer of the Assembly of God
church, who spoke on youth and
his work with youth, especially
those in his church. He said
that those who work among
youth or worked for and with
them, must put themselves in
their position and look at things
through the eyes of youtn.
He stated that an cnurcnes
across the country are losing 80
of the young people when they
become teenagers. He also said
that what young people want to
day is the truth.

evening, December 6, at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Anderson,
honored Miss Shirley Peck who
will become the bride of Roger
Palmer, Sunday, December 18.
