Bridge Club Meets
At Jones Home
The Fidas and Fyoudas met for
dessert bridge last Thursday
night at the home of Mrs. Paul
Jones.
Members and guests present
were Paul Jones, Mrs. Herman
Green, Mrs. Cornett Green, Mrs.
William Cox, Mrs. Howard Bry
ant, Mrs. Floyd Jones, Mrs. Frank
Connor and the hostess.
Mrs. Cornett Green held high
score and Paul Jones won second
prize.
Church Parties Held
On Hallowe'en
Children of the Christian,
Methodist and Episcopal churches
were entertained at Hallowe'en
parties Monday evening. Pre
school children and first, second
and third graders had their party
in the basement of the Christion
church and the fourth, fifth and
sixth graders celebrated the oc
casion at the parish hall.
Both groups spent the evening
watching movies. Refreshments
were served later.

Party Celebrates
Eighth Birthday
Mrs. Paul C. Brown and Mrs.
Walter Edger were hostesses Sun
day afternoon at a Hallowe'en
birthday party, in celebration of
the 8th birthday of Mark Brown
at the Edger home.
Guests were Meredith Webb,
Michael and Sharon Bunch, Chris
Brown, Jimmy Lindsey, Anna
Marie Harshman, Paul Hisler,
Tim Driscoll, Julia West, Ray
Jones, Stephen Peck, Lexington;
and Ronald and Bradley Johnson,
Athena. Also pesent were Sher
iff and Mrs. Roy Johnson, Pendle'
ton and Mr. and Mrs. R. D. John
son, Athena.
Small guests enjoyed birthday
cake and ice cream and received
Hallowe'en favors. The afternoon
was spent in watching TV.

The Renegers Bridge club met
Wednesday the 27th at the home
of Mrs. Larry Dowen.
Mrs. William Labhart held high
score, Mrs. Richard Meador se
cond high and Mrs. Evonne
Gammell was low.

Jack Angels Hosts
To Hospital Staff
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Angel were
hosts last Saturday evening to
employees of the Pioneer Memor
ial hospital and their husbands
and wives, at the Angel home.
About thirty attended the party,
which is an annual affair.
Games, including bingo and
ping pong were played and re
freshments served were the tra
ditional cider and doughnuts.
The rooms were decorated with
corn stalks and pumpkins in the
Hallowe'en motif.

At Extension Unit
Lena Extension Unit met Tues
day afternoon of last week at the
home of Mrs. Jerry Brosnan.
"Mending Tips" were given by
Mrs. Brosnan and Mrs. W. E.
Hughes, leaders.
