Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hunt and
Mr. and Mrs. John Ledbetter
spent several days in the moun
tains where they enjoyed some
fine fishing.
Mr. and Mrs. E. E. McFadden
and son Sonny spent the weekend
in Hermiston with Mrs. McFad
den's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Null. Sonny remained for a weeks
visit with them.
Vacation Bible school ended a
two weeks session last Friday
evening with a fine program at
the Lexington Christian church,
many songs were sung by the
whole group with beginners and
primary having some readings
and extra singing. The teach
ers for the V. B. S. were: Mrs. L. G.
Wetzel, Mrs. Douglas Price, Mrs.
Bill B. Marquardt, Mrs. Lee Wa
genblast, Mrs, Bill Nichols, Mrs.
O. G. Breeding, Miss Phyliss No
lan and Gerry Messenger.
Father's day was observed at
the Sunday school Sunday morn
ing with sevtral special songs by
the primary class, and a short
skit in the form of a quizz pro
gram by the older classes. Im
mediately following was church
sendees with the sermon on Fath
ers and their responsibilities.
Mr .and Mrs. Cecil Jones and
family and Lucille Kendall and
Mr. and Mrs. George Irvin and
family were visitors Sunday at
Maryhill Castle, Wash.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Marshall
are vacationing in Omak, Wash.
Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Denslinger,
mother of Mrs. O. W. Cutsforth,
and granddaughter Linda Whet
more, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lash
and nieces Dorothy and Alice
Lockhart of The Dalles and Sha
ron Cutsforth of lone were week
end visitors at the 0. W. Cutsforth
ranch.
The Lilian C. Turner Founda
tion held its father's day dinner
in the I. 0. O. F. dining room on
Sunday with the annual meeting
immediately following.
Holly Rebekah lodge held its
regular meeting at the hall on
Thursday evening with the N. G
Jo Irvin in the chair. Minutes were
read, sick were reported on and
after the- usual business the
meeting adjourned. Refreshments
were served by O'tillia Hunt, and
Audrey Ansted. It was decided
being as the July meeting would
be the last one for this year, due
to summer vacation, we would
have a party at which time, card
playing and dancing will be en
enjoyed, and the Oddfellows are
cordially invited to attend as are
all -the Rebekahs. At the meeting
Audrey Ansted was installed as
district deputy.
Mr. and Mrs. E. W. McMillan
and John Spence visited at the
Fred Bristow home in Cove, on
Sunday.
Mr .and Mrs. Art Keete returned
Friday from Canada where they
took Mrs. Campbell, mother of
Mrs. Keene, for a visit.
Shirley Van Winkle, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Van Winkle
of Heppner is visiting her grand
parents Mr. and Mrs. William
Van Winkle Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Breeding
spent the weekend in Portland.
Jay Mathews, grandson of the
Breedings, returned home with
them for an indefinite visit.
Mrs. Mary Williams and son
Billy of Portland visited at the
Majeske and Colley homes over
the weekend.
Funeral services were at Lawn
crest Memorial Bark in Redding,
Calif., with the Rev. Forrest Steen
foott officioting, for Larry Lee Pat
terson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Law
rence Patterson of Whitmore,
California. The infant drowned
in a small lake on the Rogue
Diamond Ranch, . Saturday June

ing his parents and a brother Wil
lis, his paternal grandparents
Mr. and Mrs. Willis Patterson of
Red Bluff and maternal grand
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles A.
Buchanan of Lexington. Mrs.
Buchanan, who attended the ser
vices, returned to her home here
on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Angell and fam
ily visited in Fossil on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Newt O'Harra re
turned last week from Estes Park
Colorado. Sunday they were in
Portland to spend Fathers day
with their son Jack and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Selves and
two daughters of Spokane, Wash
ington returned to their home on
Tuesday after visiting with his
sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs.
Mervin Leonard.

Rodney Crawford Sr. and Mr. and
Mrs. Rodney Crawford Jr. and a
doughter of Portland, Pvt. and
Mrs. Clyde Crawford and son of
Richland, Wash., and Mrs. Wal
lace Gaarsland. Mr. and Mrs.
Rodney Crawford Jr. also visited
his brother and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Wate Crawford.

presented year pins to members
at a meeting Saturday evening.
Those eligible for pins were:
John Farris, a 35 year pin; Victor
Rietmann, Walter Dobyns, Cleo
Drake, Homer Mankin, and Char
les Dane, 30 year pins; Harold
Dobyns and Cecil Thome, 25 year
pins and Walter Roberts a 20 year
pin. A potluck dinner was .ser
ved at 7 p. m. by the auxiliary
members. A dance followed to
raise funds for fireworks the
Fourth of July.
