Two Easter egg hunts were en
joyed by the children of the
community Saturday. In the
forenoon the children of the air
force personnel had theirs at the
bombing range, with about lo
attending. In the one and two
year old group the prize for find
ing the most eggs was awarded
to Jeffrey Praeger. In the three
and four age group Connie Tol
bert found the most, and silver
eggs were found by Sandra Nor
dyke and Terry Praoger. Joe Val
enti was the winner in the five
vears and up group, and silver

the most eggs were found by
Bobbie Skoubo, the silver egg by
Karen Gronquist, and the gold
egg by Stevie Forthman. Ronnie
Olmstead found- the most in the
school age group, and the gold
egg by Charles Wizner, and the
silver egg by Raymond Busen
berg. Special eggs were found
by Linda Tatone and Patty Gar
rett. There were about 50 child
ren in attendance.
Mrs. Earl Briggs, Mrs. Ed Kunze
and Mrs. Florence Root attended
the meeting of the Stanfield Civic
Iris club in Hermiston last Thurs
day night at the home of Mrs.
E. S. Meyers. Mrs. Briggs is presi
dent of the Blue Mountain District
of garden clubs.
A large crowd gathered at the
grange hall Saturday night for a
farewell party for Mr. and Mrs.
William Forthman and Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Davis, who are moving
to Ontario this week. Committee
in charge was Mrs. Everett Dan
iels. Mrs. Leonard Bedord, Mrs.
Charles Forthman, Mrs. George
Duncan, Mrs. Claud Worden and
Mrs. Myron Watts, Sr. Mrs. Earl
Briggs was in charge of the. pro
gram, which included group
singing and piano accordion
numbers by Mrs. Myron Watts,
Jr. and Barbara Gantenbein. The
two couples were presented with
table lamps as farewell gifts.
Mr, and Mrs. Perry Smith and
three daughters, Walla Walla,
Wash., were weekend visitors at
the home of Mrs. Smith's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Walt Coomes.

visited her father, Elmer Messen
