Parent Teacher's Association

sponsored by the organization
Saturday night at the fair pavil
ion. Donating music for the evening
were Roy Quackenbush, Mrs.
Clive Huston, MisT Elbert Cox,
Alvin Bunch, Bob Stevens, Ivan
McDaniel and Pete Haynes, of
Lone Rock. Callers were James
Driscoll, Bruce Lindsay and Roice
Fulleton.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Keeling,
Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Gribble, Mr.
and Mrs. Marcel Jonas and Mr.
and Mrs. N. C. Anderson were in
charge of refreshments.

Potluck Dinner Party
Members of the Beta Omega
chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha
and their husbands had a potluck
dinner at the Legion hall Sunday
evening, after which they played
pinochle.
Those winning prizes were Mrs.
Donald Heliker, high; Robert Hos
kins, second and Donald Peterson,
traveling pinochle. I
Bridal Shower Given
Elise Bauernfeind
A bridal shower was given in
honor of Miss Eline Bauernfeind
at the Legion hall in lone Satur
day afternoon.
She received many useful and
lovely gifte. Mrs. Howard Cro
well and Miss Mary Ann Jensen
assisted with the gifts. Judy
Sherer and Arleta McCabe assist
eo about the room.
Arleta McCabe gave a piano
solo and Mris. Ernest HeiiKer gave
two readings.
The eift table was decorated
with pussy willows and dano-
dils. The dining table had a
center niece of an altar on which
was a prayer book and lily of
the valley, in front of which was
a miniature bride and groom.
The hostesses were Mr. Berl
Akers, Mrs. L. A. McCabe, Mrs
Lloyd Howton, Mrs. John Eu-
banks, Mrs. Earl McCabe and
Mrs. Marion Palmer.
Miss Bauernfeind, a student at
Oregon State College, is the bride
elect of John Paisley, also a stu
dent at Oregon State. She spent
the weekend with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Martin Bauernteind or
Morgan.

Wedding Announced
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lamb an
nounce the marriage of their
daughter Dorothy Jean to Robert
Eugene Cunningham of Heppner.
The couple were married at Hood
River on February 19. Mr. Cun
ningham its the son of Mr. and
Mrs. William Cunningham of
of Heppner.
They will reside in Pendleton
where he is employed. Mrs. Cun
ningham will work at the Pendle
ton branch of the First National
Bank.
Dessert-Bridge Held
At Reeves Home
Mrs. John R. Reeves and Mrs.
Jos. J. Nys entertained with a
dessert bridge at the Episcopal
rectory, Thursday afternoon, for
the benefit of the Altar Guild.

day afternoon with a dessert and
bridge.

The lone schools had a very
lucky weekend in basketball.
The high school won from Board
man Friday evening here and
with Heppner here Saturday night
with a score of 40-41. It was a
close game all the way through.
The grade school won from Ar
lington at Arlington Saturday
afternoon.
Mrs. Paul rettyjohn and Mrs.
Roland Bergstrom entertained the
Arnica club members at the Ma
sonic hall Wednesday Feb. 16.
Pinochle was played. These re
ceiving door prizes were Mrs.
Adon Hamlett, Mrs. Delmer Craw
ford and Mrs. Robert Jepsen.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Aune of
Seattle spent the weekend with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Barnett.
Miss Dolores and Herbert Han
son of Portland spent the week
end with their sister and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Peterson.

rigon was a visitor here over the
weekend.

heard Redd Harper talk at the
Methodist church there.
Rev. Wilfred McKay returned
home laut week from Montana
where he conducted revival meet-
ings in a Nazarene church.
