They also attended the U. of O. O. S. C. basketball games Friday and Saturday nights. They .re turned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Crockett and' son have returned here from Portland are at the home of Mrs Crockett's father, Louis Hamilton Crockett has been in the veteran's hospital in Portland the past three months after having sur gery. Mrs. Lowell Shattuck, who i; employed at the Goldendale, Wash, hospital, spent several days at her home here last week. Saturday she took her son Mar tin to Portland for a medical checkup. Stanley Shattuck, who is employed In Pendleton, spent the weekend at his home here. Mr. and Mrs. Alien Ely and daughter Renee, Spokane, Wash., were weekend visitors at the home of Ely's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ely. , Sgt. and Mrs. Donald Fair and son went to Newberg over the weekend to visit at the home of Mrs. Fair's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Zemke, Mrs. Max Vannoy and Mrs, A. B. Vannoy went to Portland Sun day, taking Wayle Rae Vannoy down for a medical checkup. Mr. and Mrs. John Walker and son Dick, Pendleton, were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Garner. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tatone re turned home Sunday from a two weeks vacation trip to southern California points, Tia Juana, Mexico, and Las Vegas, Nev. At Los Gatos, Calif., they visited Mrs. Tatone's brother, Carl Wick lander. Mr. and Mrs. Laddie Goddard and three children, Goodnoe Hills, Wash., were weekend visitors at the home of Mrs. Goddard's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Veelle. Mr. and Mrs, Frank Connor, Heppner, visited at the home of Mrs. Connor's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Rlppee, Sunday. Mrs. Ed Kunze returned home Monday from a two week's visit in Portland at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed McClellan, Sr. Wives of the airforce personnel met last Friday afiernoon at the grange hall and formed a Wives Club. There were 18 present. They plan to have two meetings a month on the first and third Tuesday. Mrs. Gren Hawes was elected president; Mrs. Emery Nordyke, vice, president; Mis. Miles Slandish, secretary; Mrs. Thurman Johnson, treasurer. The next meeting will be Feb. 1 at the home of Mrs. Hawes. I Mrs. Ervin Flock was hostess for a pink and blue shower last Friday night at her homo in honor of Mrs. Wayne Kuhn. There were 28 ladies present. In games played prizes were won by Mrs Arthur Allen, Mrs. Kuhn and Mrs. Thurman Johnson. Many lovely gifts were receied by the honoree. The Ladies Aid society of Com munity church met Wednesday afternoon of last week at the church with Mrs. Seth Russell and Mrs. Leo Potts as hostesses. There were 19 members present. The ladies voted to again have the Open Door Children's Home n Hazard, Ky., as their project for the year. Ralph Zunker, student at Sac red Heart Seminary in New York City, visited at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ferguson, one day last week. Russell Miller returned to his home last Thursday from Good Shepherd hospital jn Hermiston, where he was ten days following a heart attack. His condition is much improved. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kress, Spalding, Idaho visited two days last week at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kress and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Olmstead. Bill Thorpe, high school sopho more, sprained his ankle in the basketball game with St. Joseph's Academy in Pendleton Tuesday night of last week, and was in St. Anthony's hospital two days. This will cripple 'the Boardman team, as he was usually their highest scorer. Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar Skoubo are the parents of a daughter born Jan. 18 at St. Anthony's hospital in Pendleton. She has been named Patsy Lee. Grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Skoubo and Mr. and Mrs. George Sicard, Boardman. Great-grand parent is Maxine Sicard, Wood bum. The baby weighed seven pounds, 13 ounces. Mis. Donald Tannehlll and daughters Mary and Susan, La Grande, were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde" Tannehill. Mrs. Dorothy Bentley, Arling ton, was a recent visitor at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Gra ham. Also visitor at the Graham home and the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thornhill was Donija Shouse, Hermiston. Mrs. Max Vannoy and Miss Zelma Cowan took Jean Scott to Prosser, Wash., the first of last week where she took the bus to, Seattle, Wash., to visit her mother Mrs. Mattie Scott Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Mrs. Anna Skoubo Is employed in Pendleton at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. VV. Shafer. In the list of committee mem bers appointed to form a fire dis trict from the Commercial club last week the name Walter Hayes' was in error. Robert Harwood was appointed to be on the committee Instead of Hayes. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marlow, went to Pendleton Sunday even ing to visit Marlow's mother, Mrs. Julia Marlow, who has been seriously ill in St. Anthony's hos pital for the past nine months. Her condition is unchanged. President Shirley Peck called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by naming a presi dent of the United States. ' The club voted to buy for each member without one, a folder to hold our old record books. Miss Beverly Bradshaw, acting County extension agent, pre sented to Janet Wright, her can ning award she won at the County fair last year. She also gave each member a 4-H'calendar for 1955.
