Circular Gives Salt Treatment for Posts Salt treatment for lengthening the life of green posts and poles a method familiar in western Oregon for many years is re viewed in an extension circular just published by Oregon State college. Widely used as a simple, in expensive treatment, it is also hazardous through use of a deadly chemical in the preser vative solution. Preparation of posts for treatment and results with various types of wood based on 25 -year tests are discussed in the state.
